Hello everybody,
I am canadian citizenship and wanted to sponsor my spouse from india. Need help for the followings :-
Most Important :-
1) I was layoff from job for more than a year and my EI stops in 3 months before and still I am
unemployment, So, Can I able to Sponsorship my Spouse from India ?

thats all I wanna know and I really appreciated for your immediate responce. I am looking forward for your reply

thanks a lot

EI is okay. Unemployment is okay. "Social assistance" ("welfare") is not okay. You can't go on welfare before the whole process is finished.

thanks beshoo,

I heard that we have to fill up current job in the form so what can i write in that ? Unemployment ?
And I ask for the application Kids and can anybody give me a little details about the forms like,
1) what form do i have to fill up ?
2) what form my spouse has to fill up ?
3) Is there any form we have to fill up together ?
4) What else steps she has to take at india beside the forms in the application kids?
5) Do I have to fill up any form or anything beside forms in the application kids ?
6) I am may be going to india and we both fill up there together and Can I send all application from India before I came to canada ?
If so what are the procedures please
thanks

All the forms and information that you need are available here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp You need to fill in 1. the sponsorship forms (you fill in these) 2. the PR application forms (your spouse completes these) and 3. follow the country specific instructions for India. Besides the forms you will need to submit a police clearance certificate for your spouse, proof of her having completed a medical exam and proof of your relationship together (emails, letters, photos, etc.). as well as photocopies of requested documents. All the details are listed in the guidebooks on the page listed above. Please read through them thoroughly and then ask any additional questions. Yes you can mail your application from India. Since you are a Cnd. citizen, you can actually be living outside of Canada with your spouse while your application is in process. But you will need to submit proof of your plans to re-establish yourself in Canada if you are living outside of Canada (e.g. proof of a job offer or job applications, proof of a residence in Canada etc.) Check the guidebooks -- they will give you other ideas of what proof is needed if this is something you are considering. Good luck!

EDIT: Just to add to your previous question.... Yes, in theory you do not need to have a job. So in theory, being on EI is not an issue and you can still sponsor your spouse. BUT....they may have questions about how you will support yourself and your spouse. I have certainly heard of them asking about this. In fact a friend of mine recently applied through ND and was asked about her employment status before her husband was issued a visa. So just be aware that not having a job for an extended period of time could raise some red flags and in the worst case scenario, yes, they can reject your application if they have reason to believe that you and/or your spouse are not willing and able to support yourselves in Canada.

Hello friends,
First of all let me thanks everybody for your help and tips. I got few more now as below:-
I wanna know that am not work for long time and still not having jobs right now, so long time no jobs effects my sponsorship or not ?
If I go to school and get a student loan then am I eligible to do a sponsorship too ?
Other one is not my case but wanna know little bit info as my friend who has problem, which is how about bankrupt ? If someone already filed sponsorship before and then bankrupt while sponsorship is in a porcess then what will happen ?
Or bankrupt filed and finished bankrupt process and then able to sponsorship later ?
thanks

Yes, being unemployed for a long period of time MAY have an effect on your sponsorship. As I said previously, CIC will want to ensure that you can support yourself and your spouse without going on social assistance. But each case in individual and there is no way for us to know for sure if it will have an effect in your case.

If I go to school and get a student loan then am I eligible to do a sponsorship too ?
Yes

If you have an undischarged bankruptcy, you're not eligible to sponsor.

Or bankrupt filed and finished bankrupt process and then able to sponsorship later ?
Once the bankruptcy has been discharged, you would be eligible to sponsor.
