Hi,

I am currently at the end of my temporary visitor visa which expires at the beginning of October. I have a baby due here to a Canadian citizen on the 7th October so obviously I want to be present for the birth. The thing that I want to know is if it is recorded by canadian immigration if I overstay. I have lost my UK passport and have applied for a new one so I won't have the original stamp on when I entered as it will be a new passport.

I just want to know if there is a record kept or if I will be fine to re-enter to see my child at a later date.

Any help would be appreciated as I seem to be getting different answers everywhere. I really need to be here when my child is born!

Thanks in advance :)

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Apply to extend your visit visa before it runs out, see form at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp

While your application for extension is being processed, you have implied status. Even if they refuse to extend it, it will take them long enough that your baby will already be born and you can go back, did everything right and have no problems from immigration in the future. Good luck and congrats on your baby.

By the way, you can see at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#temp_res that visitor extension permits are right now taking 83 days to process. Should be more than enough time.
