I am sinp oid applicant, nomination on 26th Oct 2016, AOR on 25 Jan 2017 but till date no file transfer mail received..so i am worried whats the reason behind it.

Hi nainabjj

Your file will transfer and will get your second Aknowledgement of receipt (AOR) next month (End of march) it took more than two moths after you got your first AOR from CIC.

Here My time line as below.

We received your application for permanent residence on May 30, 2016.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on August 18, 2016.
We started processing your application on August 18, 2016.

Got First AOR on 18 August -16

Application trasfered to NDVO on 11 October - 16

Got medical request on 16 December -16

Done medical on 19- December -16

Ecas Updated as Medical results have been received on 24/25 December-16

Requested to pay ROPRF ( Right of permanent residence fee) on 19 -December -16

Passport request waiting!

So don't worry you will receive you second AOR and medical request soon.

thank you for your reply but my concern is people are getting 2AOR in 15 days-20 days etc how they are getting it early.

Did you receive PPR email yet? My case is same as yours (MR 16 Dec 2016 and ECAS shows Decision Made and BC is in Progress). I could not find when ECAS was updated to DM. You mentioned 14 Feb 2017 in your case. Where did you get this date?

But still waiting for PPR (NDVO).

Hi! Could anyone please tell me what happens after Right of PR fees has been paid and "Medical results have been received". Status shows "In process" on ECAS. Cannot link my paper application with my account because I filed through a representative. Does "Background Check" happen after this (before PPR). My passport is already with NDVO as I had applied for Work Permit after BC nomination. It was delayed due to hold by PNP for some time. Now my PR application has reached NDVO for which I had the medicals done and paid RPRF.

Does background check mean verification of Employment references etc. or something else?

Regarding background check: If you have copies of the documents sent to CIC please see that there is a background related form. Whatever you filled in there, CIC can verify. It does not mean they will thoroughly check all the cases. Usually what I have seen data from this forum, some applications are randomly picked up and sent to third party for thorough verification (including employer check).
Other applications, they check documentation and pcc.

Whatever be the cases, I have seen from the forum data that after medical, background check starts. If background check is conducted by third party it will take time. After background check is done, ECAS will show status as Decision Made, which means all are done and you wait for approval/rejection email. Approval email means you will receive PPR email.

Thanks for your reply. My employment references were checked in May 2016 after I had applied for Work Permit in April 2016. I got a letter in June 2016 regarding the Immigration Officer's concern that these were not authentic to which I replied with all evidence in July 2016. Later, I was also interviewed by the Immigration Officer in New Delhi High Commission in September 2016 and she told me that she will consider my case but have to wait for PNP's intimation as they had put a hold on my case. I was interviewed on phone from Canada by PNP officer in October 2016. Then, PNP removed the hold on my case in November 2016. This was all for Work Permit.

Meanwhile my application for PR had already reached NDVO in October. I was not issued the TRV and Work Permit. Instead I got MR on 16th December and instructions to pay RPRF and submit copies of our passports on 18th December which I did by 1st week of January. It seems that now my PR Visa is being processed instead of TRV and Work Permit.

Now do you think they would again go for BC for PR Visa? That would delay it further. I am hoping that now atleast I get the PR visa. My husband's and my passports are already with them. Our children's passports are with us.

where i can see the status related to -Background checks ???
as for me, in CIC portal , last updated line is
"medical received".
Medicals have been done on 30 Jan 2017, on 2nd feb it showed on portal, medical results received.

This is for PNP guys with visa office New Delhi who have passed their medical exam in last week of Dec'16 & First week of Jan'17.

Has anyone of you got PPR or seen any change reflected for Background check/Final decision ?
