Hi All,

This is for PNP guys with visa office New Delhi who have passed their medical exam in last week of Dec'16 & First week of Jan'17.

Has anyone of you got PPR or seen any change reflected for Background check/Final decision ?

I am also PNP nominee. Got medical done and paid RPRF in December. Status on ECAS shows "In process" - "Medical results have been received". Our passports are already in NDVO (submitted for Work Permit earlier). Submitted copies of passports too on 10th January. Awaiting visas / PPR for our children. My passport expires on 7th June. Don't know what to expect right now.

Id applied under PNP . Recieved Medical request on 23rd dec 2016. Done meds on 30 Dec 2016.

Updated on my application as medical passed on 4th Jan 2017.

I have not heard anything since. We all have a similar timeline and Id be updating my status here when my application moves further.

Dear Isapgam,

Thanks for your reply. My employment references were checked in May 2016 after I had applied for Work Permit in April 2016. I got a letter in June 2016 regarding the Immigration Officer's concern that these were not authentic to which I replied with all evidence in July 2016. Later, I was also interviewed by the Immigration Officer in New Delhi High Commission in September 2016 and she told me that she will consider my case but have to wait for PNP's intimation as they had put a hold on my case. I was interviewed on phone from Canada by PNP officer in October 2016. Then, PNP removed the hold on my case in November 2016. This was all for Work Permit.

Meanwhile my application for PR had already reached NDVO in October. I was not issued the TRV and Work Permit. Instead I got MR on 16th December and instructions to pay RPRF and submit copies of our passports on 18th December which I did by 1st week of January. It seems that now my PR Visa is being processed instead of TRV and Work Permit.

Now do you think they would again go for BC for PR Visa? That would delay it further. I am hoping that now atleast I get the PR visa. My husband's and my passports are already with them. Our children's passports are with us.

I don't think they will again do BC. But this is my personal opinion. You can check ECAS frequently if the status changed to Decision Made. There is a whatsapp group active who are waiting for PPR from NDVO. You can join that group.

Not sure what NDVO decides but the PPR email that I received clearly says that passport validity must be at least 6 months. Since your passport in concern is already with NDVO, you can not reissue it. I would suggest you to contact NDVO thru' appointment, email, call - whatever manner it is possible. By the way getting passport reissued under tatkaal scheme takes only 7 days (submitting old passport to receiving new passport).

Thanks Isapgam. Some people have received PR Visa on their passports which were valid for less than 6 months. I saw their posts on this forum elsewhere. The PR Visa validity was only till the date of expiry of their passport, though. Others had suggested them to enter Canada with this and have their passports renewed later in Canada. My current passport number is mentioned in all the application forms of PNP, Work Permit and also PR. I'm really in doubt as to what to do now. Asking the VO for my passport now, so that I may have a new one issued in Tatkal will surely delay things even more. I am hoping that I get the PR Visa soon which may be valid till the expiry date of my passport i.e. 7th June and then either I have a new one issued in Tatkal after that, travel to Canada will my previous cancelled passport (having the PR Visa valid till 7th June) and also the new passport or I reach Canada with this passport and visa in May and have it renewed there. Could you suggest what is better? Any advise from seniors is also requested please.
