I have a question. When the status changes to 'in Transit', does it also trigger an sms alert? Or just an email with visa approval details?

In principle, it should trigger an sms alert...however...at least in my case...i was half-way on my journey to the VFS office to collect my passport when i received the "dispatched" alert and then within minutes "ready for collection" sms alert...ideally the sms alert and the status change on VFS website tracker should occur simultaneously...

the email (sent by CHC, New Delhi) contained an attachment which conveyed that the work permit application has been approved...VFS does not send any email!

cant believe this .....CHC send a mail on Saturday about MEDICALS...I was going to withdraw on 5th and got the medical request on 2nd

Just an update: the CHC has a new system for MMRs since 28th of January.

I was talking to the staff at the DMP in Mumbai, the day I got my medicals done. They now upload all your medical docs and send it online to CHC. There is no courier involved anymore. That is the reason some people got medical requests through email recently. They were still trying this new system out (was in beta) so they still kept sending things via courier for those days. The system went live on 28th Jan. So they'll be sending my docs online.

Best part is, because of this, from now on medicals would be forwarded within 1 day. Although sadly, when I called today, they said they're having some issues with the new online system, so they haven't forwarded my documents yet. Mostly tomorrow or day after.

Oh btw, I'd applied 4th December, got medical request on 30th Jan, completed medicals on 31st.

Hi Guys ....

Need your consent on this.

My wife applied Spousal WP on January 04....reached Chandigarh office on 7th January, 2013. I am on Closed WP here in Canada working on Permanent job since 2011.

Now she has received a message that Passport dispatched via bluedart. The waybill will be updated tomorrow.

I fear that it should not be rejection. She has not received the WP approval letter yet, neither Medicals.

What is your take on this?
