ND Work Permit Processing Time since February 2012?

Hello All,

My S-OWP application submitted on Jan 27, paper based (New Delhi CHC) along with pre medical and passport.
Additional documents (marriage pics) submitted as per request on March 24.
Got medical request today by mail.
Any idea why medical being requested again?

The Minister of citizenship and immigration has given Ministerial Instructions (MIs) under section 87.3 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to ensure that work permits are not issued where the associated labour market opinion (LMO) has been suspended. These MIs took effect on December 31, 2013.

Applicants who have submitted a work permit application, and the LMO is subsequently suspended, will have the processing of their work permit application suspended until further notice is provided to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
I have reviewed your application and have determined that the LMO issued to your employer in Canada has been suspended by ESDC. As such, processing of your work permit is suspended pending review of the LMO by ESDC.
You will be notified once a final decision has been made on your application.

Hi,
I already have Alberta Nomination but my WP got expired while waiting for Nomination.

So, i had to come to India to apply for Work permit in New Delhi but today got mail from them stating that my WP can not be approved.

Reason:
your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
limited employment prospects in your country of residence
your current employment situation.

Can someone pls advise? Need urgent help...

What is the approximate/average time for processing Work Permit for skilled worker on TFW with LMO from New Delhi?

• Is it any faster/different than SOWP?
• Also what is the difference in applying through VFS?

1. Application for a work permit:

2. Family Information form:

3. If you answer “YES” to questions 3 – 7 of the Background Information section on the Work Permit form. IMM5645E.pdf

4. Copies of your educational degree(s) (No attestation required)

5. Evidence of your current employment and proof of funds in the form of copies of payslips, income tax documents(last 2 years) and bank statements(3months)

6. Passport and copies of any visas in passports

7. Medical - If you are going with Upfront(In that case, get a letter from your employer that you are just about to apply WP)

8. Photos (2) each: Two (2) photos, matching Canadian specifications.

9. Copy of LMO/LMIA

10. Latest updated Resume

11. If married, marriage certificate. And if you have a child, birth certificate.

Accompanying Spouse

If there is an accompanying spouse and the spouse wishes to work in Canada, please have the spouse complete the forms 1 and 2, and if applicable, 3.

If the spouse does not require a work permit, he/she will still require a temporary resident visa. Please have the spouse complete this form instead of 1 above.
