Nairobi has had our passport since Dec 5. Isn't that just a little too long? I'm still waiting tho....but someone advice me on what I should do. Anxiety attacks here.....asanteni!

Yes, they asked a prepaid coupon courier when they requested us to send the passport, even though they were aware that she is a Somali national living Nairobi.

Canada unfortunately - and for some political reasons - does not recognize Somali passports, even though it is an e-passport and practically looks like any other e-passport and harder to get and costs twice the cost of Canadian one. U. S., U.K. and others issue visas to Somali passport holders, albeit not attaching the visa to the passport itself. But not Canada. They don't even want to do this.

Anyway, High Commission called my wife on last Monday to confirm and make sure the email was correct because medicals expire the last day of February and they wanted us to contact IOM office in Ottawa for travel arrangements, which we did and paid for the tickets. Now we are awaiting the single journey travel document, which might take up to three weeks.

Hi, we are in the same situation but in two different countries. My wife lives in hargeisa and she got approved in december. I paid the IOM fees early december, and till now we are waiting for her single journey document. I heard it can take up 60 days.

Sorry for late response I did not see this on time. I applied for EE under CEC inland. Rec'd ITA Dec 2016 and waiting patiently.

Lol sorry it is Express entry (EE). and I applied under Canadian Experience Class.

Hey Sharon, why don't u do a Case specific enquiry? Just wait few days though. Remember, Ca-ke had the same issue. I believe hers took so much longer but she finally did get her passport back and is united with her fam, by now....so don't worry, you will get ur passport back soon. I'm not sure why they delay it, but you will get it. I know this process drains energy but Stay positive!

Hey Sharon, why don't u do a Case specific enquiry? Just wait few days though. Remember, Ca-ke had the same issue. I believe hers took so much longer but she finally did get her passport back and is united with her fam, by now....so don't worry, you will get ur passport back soon. I'm not sure why they delay it, but you will get it. I know this process drains energy but Stay positive!

All the best Dear! Glad this long waiting journey is finally over for you. One last question, how long did it take to receive the passport back exactly? So I can prepare myself.

Gal, it took over 5weeks. We sent passport on December 5th. Visa was stamped on Jan 20th. Picked it up on the 25th. That's a almond 6weeks...huh! All the best dear
