I am a Canadian citizen and used to live in the Philippines. I moved back to Canada 4 years ago to get work. While in the Philippines I got married and we had a son. I have been working since and now that our son will soon be ready to begin school, my wife and I have agreed that Canada would be better for this. At this time she would like to come over with our son. My questions are can she come here then apply for PR and would my son automatically be able to stay as a citizen?

Hello there! I am assuming that your son has a Canadian passport already. IF not then there is a process for this that you have to apply for.
Option # 1- You can definitely try to submit a TRV application for your wife and if approved then she can come to Canada. There is a slim chance though as some people would say because of the fact that her ties in Canada will be stronger than in the Philippines.
So option #2 is that you apply for her PR through spousal sponsorship through Manila office. Please start here- http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse.asp

If your son was born when you were a Canadian citizen, then he is a Canadian citizen too, so he can come here and go to school. You would have to get proof of his citizenship and a Canadian passport, if he does not already have these things.
You can sponsor your wife. If she can get a TRV, she can visit Canada while the application is being processed. If not, she would only be able to enter Canada once she gets the PR visa.
