Hello folks,

I was just on e-cas, and I noticed that my husband's mailing address has changed. It was originally his mailing address back home, and it has been changed to my mailing address in Canada.

Does this mean anything. I feel like I am going crazy!!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and good luck to all of us waiting for our loved ones!!

Hey!

is it the mailing address or a new category called "home address" that has changed? the mailing address stays the same normally throughout the application (unless you or your spouse edits it through ecas), but sometimes a new "home address" category shows up, with sometimes an address in Canada - albeit not very precise, like "town, province, Canada" - if that's the case, that's rather good news... mine did that and 24h later it turned into "decision made" for the PR part...

So depends a little of where it shows up!
Good luck,
Sweden

also - are you his representative? because that could also be the reason - if you are his representative, then all correspondences will be mailed to you instead of him - hence the change of address.

Given your timeline, it seems a little early for a decision, but you never know!

Hey Sweden,

Thanks for your prompt response. I double checked my spouse's stuff on ecas. It only states his mailing address, which is listed as my mailing address.

And yes, I am his representative. I know that in 20% of the cases, Bucharest can process a file in 2 months...so I am being hopeful. But you may be right, and it may actually have to do with my representation of him :(

I have a home address listed under myself, and no home address for my spouse. Should that be concerning?

it's probably because you are his representative, but it's always nice to see movements on your file... and Bucharest is a fast office, so I'm sure you'll hear from them soon!
No home address for your spouse is normal - it was the same for me (i'm the applicant) - my "home address" category only showed up 8h before i got "decision made" - so you might never get it and go to decision made right away - ecas is not very reliable.
But - don't loose hope, you're probably near the end!
Cheers,
Sweden

I have a similar story. I am the sponsor (husband) sponsoring my wife and infant son in India. The file has been transferred to New Delhi and my wife has even received the passport request.

But throughout all this, on the CIC website it only shows my Canada address. But it shows my wife's name, a decision made and medicals received as well.

So I guess its all different for every case.

Thanks for the encouragement! We definitely all need it.

I would love to have the nice surprise of the case being finished that quickly! But at least I know someone has looked through some of the papers at least. YAY!

Good luck to both of you in this process. I appreciate your input!

Our address changed right after PPR I've read a few times that the address changing to Canada indicates that a PPR is coming or a visa has been issued and/or some sort of positive movement...so good luck!! Hopefully u get good news soon!

Our address changed aswell right before we went to in process.

although my husband is doing an ARC. but if he didnt have to do the arc, we would have gotten ppr about 2 weeks after it changed.
it possibly could be good luck. although some vo's are differrent than others.

either way its good luck because someone is working on ur case! :)

hope so lol

i knew it...thats why they kept his mailing address for the longest time as mine..cause im representative..but still only fairly recent the re-added his home address, being MY canadian home address.

hmmm. not getting too anxious, but hmmm...well long as this means someone in fact looking thru our file..makes me feel better.

was beginning to think it had been lost.

Hey Jun,

"in process" is a good sign because it means that your file has been opened and somebody is looking at it which is usually a good sign! so I hope you hear from them soon.
Good luck,
Sweden
