Hello All,

Please I need a little advice from everyone that has gone through submission of required documents to CIO.

The requirement is that one should obtain police clearance certificate from countries where one has lived for 6 consecutive months or more over the last 10 years. In my case, I studied for a postgraduate degree in Spain for 2 years but there was no time that I stayed more than 4 consecutive months at a stretch during the years of my postgraduate program because I was always going back to my country after each semester to see my family. Based on this narration, do I still need to obtain a police clearance certificate from Spain?

Thanks for your anticipated responses.

Yes, indeed. You have to get a police clearance certificate while you were studying in Spain 2 years as because you were resident in Spain for 2 years. Basically if you residence in any country more than 6 months and you have to submit a police clearance certificate. It doesn't matter how many times you were travelling back home or other countries. I hope it is clear.

Dear All,

I sent an email to NDVO via their Website for mailing address change. I received an ack email saying that they will only reply if my message meets the criteria on e-url. I sent the changes on 14th March but still no update on email or ECAS. Should I wait or should i send this information once again along with my passport and additional docs???

TIA

Congratulations. You can start canvassing for flights.

Thank you, tabs!

Quick question: My address in the application is Batangas City but most of the time I'm here in Manila. Can I just put my Manila address on the "Address where your passport can be returned by courier collect?" and do we need to pay the courier upon delivery of the package? TIA.

Yes, there is an option on Appendix A, which address you want your passport to be sent to. I paid P96 to Mr. DHL deliverer, so prepare some change (I told mine to keep the change, coz I was so excited).

@ 02clar3nc325 and everyone

I'm very happy now people - LOA arrived in the mail yesterday, 18 March 2014, to my sponsor's address. From the scanned copy sent to me by my sponsor, the LOA is dated 31-October-2013, which happens to be the date of sponsor interview but it was only mailed last week, 10-March-2014. The good news is that an additional letter of extension of the LOA is also attached, dated 10-March-2014, specifying application deadline of 10-September-2014.

I'm still at a loss as to the reason why a letter dated 31-October-2013 will be sent almost 5 months after? Explanations will be welcome from forumites.

For all those who are waiting for their LOA, be rest assured that it will surely come soonest.

Cheers
wow the wait is long but nonetheless u have ur loa! congratss!! to god be d glory
