Hi all
Please please help me.
Especially Ramcal. Tabs. And all senior members.

I m provincial nominee from Manitoba.
And a silent reader of this forum.

In my travel history what should I write.
I have traveled to Afghanistan for 3 days only.
I have Syria visa but didn't travel. (Business visa)
I was refused to enter in TRNC( Turkish republic of north Cyprus) but have EXIT ENTER stamp on my Passport from Karachi.
I am from Pakistan. What should I do?

What is the standard of CIC+CHC LONDON for security clearance. I mean how they check the applicant for his travel history.

I have a new passport but containing previous passport's number on it.

Should I declare all or should I say didn't travel.
And also for safe side I should declare it as lost having police report.
I m ready to send my file to CIC but because of this.

Please please please help me as I deserve.

Thanks

I understand your worries, you have been travelling in areas which are considered 'red flags' and you are anxious whether the embassy will scrutinize your application. However, if you haven't done anything wrong, surely, there is nothing to worry about.

First of all, the travels that they are asking are for the past 10 years. If these travels have been for more than 10 years, then I wouldn't include them on the form. This is not because I am hiding something, this is because, in my case I completely do not remember all my travels. It was already difficult for me to fill in the 10 year information, luckily I still had my old passports and I checked the places I have been to. I have traveled a lot, so I also don't remember the exact dates I have been to a country.

If this was within the 10 years, then I suggest you should be as honest as possible. No need to add Syria on your list because you did not travel there. I am honestly not sure about TRNC, that is a very good question. Perhaps in my case, I would write it down, on the section purpose of travel, ex. tourism, but refused entry. Maybe the other members can respond to this.

The security clearance is to make sure that you haven't committed any criminal offence that can harm the Canadian Society, i.e terrorism act. They do not automatically refuse you if you have a record. As far as I am concerned, security clearance does not check the applicant for his/ her travel history. Other members, please correct me here if I am wrong.

Hello All,
I would like to know the kind of supporting documentation that i will need to supply for my self and my sponsor under the general stream.

My sponsor is my second generation cousin and termed 'distant relative" in my application.

Even though i have submitted my application but i was just curious after reading some post.

Thank you.

Second generation cousin is quite a vague information. In some countries like in Europe, your mother/father's cousin is not your aunt/uncle, they are still your cousin (second generation). In some Asian countries, second cousin are your parent's cousin's children. If we are talking about some Asian culture, then you would need the following:

(1) Your BC
(2) Sponsor's BC
(3) Your mother's/father's BC (who is related to the cousin)
(4) Sponsor's mother's/father's BC (who is related to the cousin)
(5) Your mother's/father's (who is related to the cousin) mother/father BC (who is a sibling to no.6)
(6) Sponsor's mother's/father's (who is related to the cousin) mother/father BC (who is a sibling to no.5)

How did you show proof of this? That's a lot of BC to collect. :o :o :o

@tabs179,
Thanks for your incisive response, i only submitted my own BC and nothing more, i was thinking that since my application is not under the family stream but under general stream those items were not neccessary, that was why i did not submit any of those items that you enumerated earlier.

But i will work on those list and update my online application accordingly,

Thank you.

I also applied under general stream, although my relative was a close relative (my mother's brother). I couldn't meet the work experience requirements under General Stream. But I know that since April 2013, there is a new MPNP policy, they have now made all the streams under one application a point based system. Unless you applied earlier than that.

You might be right that there is a possibility that you won't need all these BCs because your relation is 'distant'. However, think about this in a different perspective, you are the case worker. You received an application, the applicant stated that he and the sponsor are distant relatives. It says so on the forms and also on the SP1 and SP2. However, there are no other evidence because your birth certificate cannot show your blood link to your sponsor. So, the case worker wonders how you are related.

On the other hand, the case worker might still accept your application, but will only base it as friends under adaptability, which won't affect your scores anyway as friends and distant relatives carry the same points (under the new policy).

Dear Forum Mates,
Just to update, my AOR was received via email on 19 Nov 2013.
Appreciate the update on the timeline.

Can I also enquire what are likely the next steps, how does the file transfer take place and updated to me?

My journey continues to the next phase, as for the rest of you, my wishes reach out to you in making your Manitoba dream come true, best of luck...

No authentication needed. Just photocopies.

The only original required is your Police Clearance Certificate/ NBI Clearance (for Filipinos).

It would be better if you have a six month financial history.

Hi Studd!

Thank you for the update. 02clar3nc325 is the one updating the CIO timeline. He's very active in this forum and will update your timeline as soon as he saw your post.

So, it's still true based on the current timelines that AOR from CIO is received within a month period... hopefully the trend will continue... my application with CIO is now on its 11th day!

I believe you will be contacted later on by the Visa Office (VO) assigned to process your application further. At this point, you still have to rely on your patience (as we are already been used to) and wait for the the medical request (MR) from the VO. Goodluck!

Thanks GKarl,

The trend of 1 month seems consistent and hopefully for the rest, including yourself it would be much shorter.
Thanks for clarifying, I await for the VO to make the next move.

And as you have rightly pointed out, its patience that has brought us this far and we have to bank on that patience to bring us to the next level.
Best of luck to the batch of 2013, cheers..
