Hi Mechanical Nursing,

Actually, I didn't receive any acknowledgement that they have received the payment for the RPRF. That's why, I am a bit worried. I did the same thing, went to RCBC then proceed for my medical in IOM. Normally, it takes 1 month after your status changed to "In process" you will receive the Passport Request. When the hospital submitted the medical results to embassy, that is the start of your 1 year visa expiration. ;)

Goodluck! :)

Hi Forza2013,

I did the same thing. I went to IOM then went to drop my payment for RPRF before lunch. When I checked the application status online, it still says "application for permanent residence receive on August 26, 2013". Thank you for responding...Godbless..

My status from 'Application Received' to "In Process" took more than 2 months. Yhis is because I used bank draft as payment for rprf. I wasnt aware that bank draft took really, really long to be encashed since it will be sent to Canada for encashment since it is in CAD currency. Unlike paying peso MC, this will take less than a week. Therefore it is advisable here in the Philippines/CEM to pay in peso. Others' status changed to In Process in less than 2 weeks.

Good information for those thinking of paying Bank Draft. +1

Hi jane Smith

Really? I thought it would be better to pay on CAD funds because it's indicated on the CIC website that CAD is preferred since Philippine peso value may fluctuate. I requested a cheque to be in CAD from metro bank then I sent it last November 15.

As per the phone conversation in mpnp office only one for a friend and your supporter is not supprting other person this include a family member or another friend...
However if the supporter is already supporting another application ie family then your supporter can sponsor you only aftr 18 mos upon submittion of the 1st.

As per the seniors advice better email them so we have written proof...

Paid our rprf on Nov. 19, 2013. Our medical is scheduled on November 22, 2013..

hi mechanical.nursing,

this is also true, there might be some fluctuations if you use bank draft. but the disadvantage of having a bank draft is its leadtime.

i also carefully review th pros and cons of paying the rprf.

my decision was to pay it using bank draft as early as possible. i did not wait for the rprf request anymore. while waiting for my MR, i already drop my bank draft to the embassy. im thinking that when my MR comes, the leadtime is already running.

you are also right in using bank draft, there is no wrong answer here, its just a matter of choosing the lesser risk and the shorter leadtime of encashment. ;)

Hi ramcal,

I'm just confuse with manager's cheque and bank draft. I was thinking that if it's a manager's cheque, it's in peso only. Although what I said in the bank when I requested it in CAD, it should be managers cheque. Next day, I picked up the cheque immediately and forward it to the embassy. I just didn't look on top of the cheque if it was a manager's cheque. I'll contact the bank to know if it's a bank draft, demand draft or a manager's cheque that was given to me.. ;D

yes you can ask your bank to confirm what they have issued to you.

just a piece of advice, everytime you send out an original papers, documents, cheques, make sure that you either take a photo using your mobile phone, and/or xerox/scan a copy for your reference. this way, you will always have a proof that you already paid it.

:) good luck.

Will share my experience..

I used bank draft since am afraid of the fluctuation issues. Got the draft from the bank on aug 23 then dropped it to RCBC. Med was done Aug 28. And it was submitted to the Embassy Sep 3, status 'Med received' was Sep 9 and that's it. Application Received to In Process status was only changed Nov while others only took 2 weeks. This is so because, as per BPI (where I got the draft), my bank draft was encashed between Oct 1 to 15. Yes, that long.

Not to mention also that peso MC is cheaper by almost 3k pesos.

If I had known then that MC is advisable, I would have used that as payment.

Hi everyone ,

what should be the answer to this question :
If your occupation is not regulated, what steps will you take before you arrive in Manitoba to ensure you find skilled employment soon after arriving in Manitoba?

I am computer programmer .please suggest the answer asap.

To All Forum Members,

It has been very silent with the MPNP. Are we going to have a silent Christmas?

Again, the agony of waiting is now creeping into my system, patiently waited more than 7.5 years (2005 - 2013) under the FSW stream just to find out about the termination of my application. Now, another waiting game.

Today, I finally find time to review the timeline of 2012 applicants, and surprisingly, I found out that almost all GS applicants waited more or less 11-12 months to get their LOA, a few even waited even longer (18 months if I remember it right). For FS, it only took them about 4-6 months. All the while I thought that GS applicants will only wait about 4-6 months while FS will only wait 3-4 months.

Seniors, kindly share and comment please.

Thank you.
