Think you should move whoever you find employment. Given your plan to only work as a dental assistant for a year or 2 many dentists will be reluctant to integrate you into their team and have you leave. I hope your wife will be working as well because it will be difficult to live on one income if you are a dental assistant with a family.
Thats my concern

Can't solve the problem. You have to be able to do other work if you can't get a job as a dental assistant. I don't believe dental assistants make a lot of money. Hygienist make more. Sorry to break it you but you will likely face challenges for at least the first 10 years in Canada. Getting licensed, getting a good dentistry job and then perhaps buying a practice is a long, challenging and expensive process.

What other alternatives can you suggest me ?

Houses are cheaper in northeast area of calgary around 450000 to 500000 $ price for average medium house. Sale tax are 5 % only, gas is cheaper in Alberta as compared to Ontario and BC, these are main reasons why are planning to move to Calgary Alberta.

There is a reason for that market setup. Houses go up in desirable areas and they do stagnate where the economy stagnates as well. So you need to think if you can find job there and how easy will it be.

What good would be a cheaper house, if you will struggle to find a job and later on have problems to sell that house?

Would definitely try to secure jobs before moving or at least 1 of 2 jobs. Alberta economy has struggled recently but it has become more stable recently. Not sure if there is still a hiring freeze in areas like health care. If you are looking for 2 healthcare jobs where the housing prices our lower there are probably many options across the country. Hard to know given we don't know what type of jobs you are looking for.

Despite of that, full of shoppers in shopping malls across Calgary comparable to what I'd seen in Yorkdale.

Cost of living is still much lower. You won't find a community like in Brampton but I see that a good thing. Canada works better when various cultures live side by side. Given the provincial economy (although better) I would make sure there are health care employment opportunities.
I know lot many residents from Indian community lives in North-east/North-west area in Calgary, so that would not be a problem for us.
