Moscow Application Processing Office

I just checked our ECAS and it has now changed to "in process". It says they started processing it on July 29. Since we received our PPR on August 1st a two day turn around (excluding the weekend) is great! Way to go Moscow!

I guess it just goes to show all of the time spent organizing the application before sending it in really helped!

Good luck everyone!

It does help but it is no guarantee. Your time from AOR to POVL (75 days) is EXCEPTIONALLY short. Most people wait 120 days or more. We are at the 150+ days mark (240+ days since filing in Mississauga) with a simple and extremely well organized file (I'm a scientist). No children, etc. Very simple case. Still... I'm glad for you.

By the way processing times increased in Moscow from 9 to 10 months and decreased from 11 to 7 months in Kiev! Nice! :-(

I don't wait to rain on your parade Jianadaren but hoping from day to day for visa is how we lived for months now (filed in Dec 2010 and AOR in early March 2011) and it is extremely difficult. Our case cannot be simpler and all documents (including medicals) are already there and have been accepted. We're both professionals, without children or other dependents and I'm Canadian-born. Our marriage has been judged as genuine by the officer and no other steps are necessary from us. We have several CAIPS/GCMS reports to that effect BUT...

...we got an email today from Moscow visa office that essentially says "we have many files to attend to" and "best estimates for PR visas are now for sometimes in Fall 2011" and "these are standard processing times".

This is simply abusive!

By the way these times are (as confirmed to us by visa office) from the time the documents are sent to Moscow (or Kiev) office, not from the time the application is filed in Mississauga. From statistics widely available this means an additional 6 weeks on average.

Really cruel indeed!! :(

Exactly! This fact should be known on Russian forums as well. People should be aware of this abuse.

ubernemo, this reply from cic is very sad.. but at least you got an answer - btw, we're been waiting from Sept. 2010, simple case, all the docs provided (incl. all PCs, labor book, degrees and certificates), both professionals without children, first marriage etc. I guess our relationship was also judged as genuine, bc I got a multi-entry trv while our file was already in CIC. all the emails we got from CIC up till now say that they're still waiting for b/checks inquiries back, meanwhile we contacted both agencies who conduct these checks and got reply that the checks were done and sent back to CIC in the beginning of February 2011. looks like our CIC guys didn't want to tell us directly abt backlog, they just keeping it simple - don't tell what's going on, bc there is no action on our CAIPS file records since January. medicals expire this month

at least your CIC don't tell you stories. our cic doesn't even want to provide our case real status or estimated processing time.
we emailed our CIC last time with all the responses from b/checks agencies attached - hope they won't just ignore it, otherwise we will have to go to MP as average case processing time for our CIC decreased by 1 mnth recently - 8 months.

I think there is not much we can do, just hope MP will support a lil bit to get our real case status.

you can also try to contact your MP - won't hurt. I know it's getting harder just keep hope and don't loose your spirit.

I have a question concerning ECAS and AOR and all that jazz.

A month ago I was approved for sponsorship and the application sent off to the Moscow visa office. Since then there has been nothing new and no communication from the office about receiving it or anything. I called CIC and they said the visa office won't send any letters or update anything online.

How does everyone receive an AOR? What about a client ID for my wife? If we want to send the visa office updated emails and pictures and things like that, how do we do it?

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Normally about 2 weeks after being approved as sponsor your e-CAS status should show that documents have been sent to the Moscow visa office. This is when the official countdown for months starts (the now 10 months processing time). Then about 4-6 weeks later the immigrant should receive a letter by email called the AOR that gives case numbers, etc.

e-CAS: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas
e-Client Application Status Tracker: https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/

To send additional proofs of relationship, etc. search the forum for procedure and suggestions. Basically you send them to Moscow.

Great, thanks! You might be good luck, because earlier today, when I posted this, the e-cas status said "Not Available". Then I checked this evening and it said "Application received at visa office". That's good!

Hey, we can certainly relate... our case is exactly as yours. ("cannot be simpler")
We filed in Mississauga back in JULY, and the Moscow office has already had our file for MORE THAN TEN MONTHS.

While all along we've been watching numerous other Moscow office cases being processed in 4 or 5 or 6 months... :(

Here are some of the BEST times we could compile from the most recent Spousal PR applications who received the POVL from the Moscow visa office. Some of you may recognize themselves as this data was collected from many forums.

Some notes about the first column:

87 days was for someone going to Quebec and possibly having submitted all application in French. Apparently it might help because few officers can process it so it gets more attention from them.

62 days might be from a *powerful MP* 's intervention. Not sure.

75 days was discussed recently here. Mr Oliphant's intervention at the PARL CIMM session (March 10 2011) might have helped this case indirectly.

Numbers on the same line are for the same applicant.
