Hi!

I am using the "come to canada" survey to start the EE application. I think I am eligible for the FSW category but it turns out to be not eligible. Could you please help me figure out the reason?

Here is my information:

age: 28 (12 points)
Education: Master (23 points)
Work experience: 1.5 year outside Canada as mechanical engineer (9 points)
Celpip: 8,9,12,12 (23 points)
Has relative who is a Canadian citizen (5 points)
My wife took ielts: 6,7,7.5,7.5 (5 points)

I thought I should get 77/100 points but it tells me not eligible.

If I increase my education to doctoral degree (79 points), I am still not eligible
If I increase my work experience to 2 years outside canada (79 points), then I become eligible. That's weird because FSW only requires 1 year work experience.

Please help!
Thank you!

I've had issues with the Come To Canada wizard. It said my wife was ineligible, but she is eligible and has 470 some odd points. It says I'm ineligible even if I get a LMIA (which is not true either).

You can still apply after the wizard fails you. Just force it through, and you will get the real answer from the Express Entry system.

Thank you so much for your quick response.

So you mean I can use the number generated of the "failed" survey to create my EE profile? There is no connection between the survey and the profile?

Can I put 2 years experience (which is not ture) in the survey but put 1.5 year (which is ture) in my EE profile?

Go ahead and fill it out. You will get something like this:

You will see your personal reference code at the bottom. In this example, mine is SQ1858830745.

Next, you will want to create a MyCIC account. You can do that here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp#login

You will click on Apply For Express Entry:

Enter your personal reference code and create your profile.

There is no connection between "Come to Canada" questionnaire and actual profile. It's for your convenience only.

It's always a round down. You have to have exactly 2 years (to the exact date) to claim 2 years in EE.

You must have at least one year of continuous working experience to be eligible for EE.
Is your 1.5 year experience continuous? Or it contains two jobs, neither is longer than 1 year?
