@Huron - glad to hear all went well in the DF! Getting the marriage certificate legalized now means one less thing for you to worry about later if you ever need it, so that's a good thing. Fingers crossed for a speedy return of your FBI!

@ huron, we are applying outland. My CL has a multiple entry visa here so we are waiting to pass the one year mark of us actually living together! I read 6 months in 80% of cases, hoping this will be the case for us!

Also, while living in mexico for two and a half months we only have a rent agreement for 3 months (it was paid month to month) as well as receipts, and then my plane ticket there and back to canada later in july to to prove I was there for the time stated. We did not open bank accounts or set up anything JOINT until getting to Canada and after settling in so around early aug. Do you think the will respond negatively to this? We tired to add him to my account here in Canada in Mexico, however, we were unable to do that until he was actually IN canada, which is why it was done early august. Thanks all!

Congrats Wooera, glad to know your process did not take that long. Three weeks from the date you sent the docs and you get the PReq, awesome.

So, can you go in person and obtaing the PR Visa yourself? I beive I read once that it was faster that way, going in the morning, dropping the passprot in person, and getting it in the afternoon.

Cheers!
D.

Hello Guys!!
I am confused because ECAS already update my status before it was:
Application Received 8 jun 11
In process : they started to process on jun 14

Now:
In process: We received your application for permanent residence on June 8, 2011.
We started processing your application on September 9, 2011.
Medical results have been received.

I am happy because finally they received my medicals but why they started from sept 9 and not from june 14 like before
That means that they are gonna start again or what i am confused!!!

VIVA Mexico !!!!!!!!

How strange it feels to be wishing I were in Mexico with my husband this week; rather than the usual wishing he was finally in Canada with me! This time last year we were celebrating our honeymoon in Cholula during the Independence Day celebrations. So much fun!!!

@Islenio

Yeeeesss Viva Mexico, I also wanted to ask if you are participating in the thread for august applicants. I sent my app on August 22, I hope we got good news soon!

I have a question here, I've been reading some people send with their apps a prepaid postal service in order to CIC send their apps to their VO quickly. Is that true? 'cause I didn't send anything, I know CIC will send my app to Mexico VO but I didn't know I have to pay for that =S I am so worried now!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure about this as I haven't heard of anyone using a pre-paid service. As far as I know the transfer to the VO is included in the processing fee and you don't have to worry about paying extra for that.

@mrandmrsromero

Yes that's what I thought but reading those posts about pre-paid service made me feel nervous...thanks for your help!

I wanted to give everyone an update on our “trámite” and see where others are in the process.
As I mention in a previous post went to DF to do the Antecedentes Penales. I am planning on going back next week to pick it up at the PGR and drop it off at the Embassy.

Does anyone know what the hours are for dropping this off at the embassy would be?

I am also getting a document legalised and it is a hassle and I will do the second part and hopefully 3rd part of the procedure on the same trip to Mexico City.

I have also been asked for FBI back ground check (UGH was not expecting it or I would have already done that) and have sent off the finger prints to the FBI in the USA but they have not charged my CC yet so I think I am in for a wait….

@ Cuenca perez ? DATTAD? Tarnen?
How is everyone else coming along was your update?

@Wooera must be getting really excited by now…. Please let us know how it goes for you getting the visa and landing.

@Silly Memo has your cc been charged yet by the FBI?

@ Mrandmrsromero I know it won’t be long now!

@yaz I am not sure what to think of your ecas update, just be glad they did not reject your application when you first sent it in because you did not have the medical already done….. (Mine got sent back cuz we forgot to sign a form and it cost us 7 weeks)

Hi Huron, you have reason I was so lucky because they didnt reject my application, but Finally they sent me my medical request already and everything is done just I have to wait for my PPR, and about your question if you want to dropp your letter to the Embasy It is easy maybe 20 minutes by taxi the problem is because of the traffic in Mexico city they charge you around 60 or 70 pesos,
when I did it I took subway close to PGR is Insurgentes station you can ask to someone which way you can take, The embasy is close to San Joaquin station on the orange line, if you want check the map inside the subway It is very easy if not you can ask.
Good Luck!!!!

Huron you can dropp them from 9am to 1 pm!!!!

MP's office called to say receipt of background checks from third party still pending. Looking forward to some good news one of these days, but for now we are resigned to the wait.

@Huron, hopefully your FBI is not too long coming. Sounds like the legalisation process is going to be quite the adventure. Good luck!
