I reached out to my MP's office again to see what the status of my husbands application; unfortunately, they weren't all that helpful. They pretty much reiterated the response we get from the Mexico VO via email, that the application is still in process, they don't require additional information.. the last time we received a request for additional documents was August 5 2019!

Anyone else considering getting their spouse a visitor visa while they wait?
We tried the visitors visa thing one year back an got denied. It’s a waste of money. Because they say once there’s an PR application there they won’t grant a Temporary visa because of personal assets. They’re afraid you won’t return to your country.

Just giving some ppl a clue.

They NEVER asked any update or additional files but if you are SURE of what you are sending... i've sent a batch in March-April when Covid happened and it's been added to our case and reviewed by an Officer which has finally said Completed / passed for eligilbility.

Cause when you apply ... usually a year pass before they finally open your case at the VO so.. in this year , some events sure happened and all that could help them decide if that's genuine or not..

So for those in my situation and that are still waiting a response , i would say before getting an interview request cause it's not sufficient,i would recommend to send them a pdf with a Collage (to resume) what happened during that year since you applied.

Trips to visits , gifts sent , communications and all.

Help them to see the relationship is still continuous and valid.

Patvicto Congratulations and thanks for the information. How did you send the collage to confirm the relationship is still continuous, is it webform or by email?

In case of spousal sponsorship, can anybody tell why are the medical visit required? Let's say your spouse fails... What are you going to do as a canadian citizen? Here are your options. You choose your spouse over Canada. Or you choose Canada over your spouse. You divorce your spouse and you marry another one according to Canadian health standards. You might kindly ask our government PLEASE SIR ADVISE ME WHO SHOULD O MARRY LOOOL
The government is simply killing your freedom.
Don't you see people how screwd is the process?

Medical fails is SUPER RARE , they just want to know if the PA could cost way too much to the system already. i think they do like 3 X times the cost of a standard canadian citizen per year in medical to insure the PA is passing..

Medical is more a formality.

2019 cost threshold (under the temporary public policy)
$102,585 over 5 years (or $20,517 per year)

if the PA COULD cost more than it... it's most likely to be refused. This person have really serious issues.

They give a PERMANENCE in Canada means the country is taking this person at charge and also the medical, is a bit normal.

And if the fails happen , you can appeal on it and prove that the person is not that costly blabla... takes really big things.
