My husband is from DR and we have exactly 4 months left to wait. Will likely be the longest 4 months ever and based on this new addition of Havana office closure, likely wait times will extend :(. Hopefully that won’t happen. Meanwhile, stay positive and travel back to DR as much time as possible.

I wish I could head back , we also have 4 months left. Best of luck to you, what part of the DR is your husband from ? Mine is close to la romana

My husband is from the Dominican and our file has not moved since the medicals. I hope all of us will be with our loved ones soon. I wish everyone the best and let’s keep staying as positive as possible
all we had after medicals was request for schedule A again as well as divorce certificates , we have never previously been married haha

I am only at 6 months with 6 left but I cannot believe they asked you for that when neither of you were married that is so crazy . I hope you get something soon

same! my processing bar claims 13 weeks left.. but I have given up hope that my husband will be here by then :(

Out of curiosity - what countries are your spouses from? do they physically have to go to the Mexico VO for interview/visa pick up?

Or would they mail their passport to Mexico, have the visa stamped, then mailed back to them?

Sorry for all the questions haha.. but the Havana process is (or WAS) quite different than other countries.. so now I have a TON of questions!

My husband is in Barbados! I have know idea what will happen in terms of passport. He might have to send to Mexico for visa stamp or Trinidad as I have heard. not sure though

don't know.. you might not even need an interview if they feel what you submitted is suffice to prove of a real relationship/ marriage meaning not fake for papers. I was told that they try and accommodate the applicant/sponsor in terms of where they have to go for an interview. it might be locally. Think positive!

oh im 100% positive that it's clearly obvious that we are in a real relationship - i over supplied that type of stuff. photos from every year we have been together including at the hospital when our daughter was born. maybe everyone thinks that though? however, we don't have many documents with both our names on it because they don't do it like that down here (i.e., lease on house or utility bills), we both owned our vehicles before meeting (yep, they're old!). i do have 1 set of financial documents with both our names but that's about it until we get to canada this summer (for a recon visit) and open a joint bank account there. i am pretty sure that anyone looking at our file would be confident that we are in a genuine relationship - at least i hope so!

excellent so you have nothing to worry about... think positive that you will not need an interview! so what if you do the relationship is real anyway so you can handle anything they throw at you....

He is living in Puerto Plata, (Sosua) miss him so much!

My husband is Dominican. Applied February 2018. Still waiting. If all the files from Havana make it slower.......my husband will never get here. Anyone heard of interview dates in Dominican?

Hey everyone,

My wife is from Mexico and is living with me in Canada for an inland sponsorship. We recently just had our medical exam completed and we are now anticipating the background check to begin and the request for PCC(should start in June with the current timelines I have been viewing).

I have heard of the long, long wait times sending the request to the Mexico City Canadian embassy and my wife and I want to get this done as quick as possible to avoid waiting.

Can someone explain to me step by step in detail the fastest way to go about doing this? What documents do we need exactly? Is it the PGC? She has lived in different provinces in Mexico and she has relatives who live in Mexico City.

If we get the PCC and then get it translated, do we then send in the translated documents, plus her fingerprints to the Government?

Any insight would be much, much appreciated
