I will definitely lodge a complaint, I wished I had thought of it sooner. Thank you Majesty for your input, I really appreciate it.

It's kind of a hassle, but hopefully if enough people lodge complaints, maybe at least they will respond to our emails about our status or even better to help get the notes out on time! Good luck with getting your notes soon!

The earthquake in Mexico might have had something to do with that. Hopefully those who have their interview dates will have good news after next month. I am now thinking more towards a worse case scenario of more than 12 months processing time with the after effects of the earthquake.

Hello. Our case have been received on july 28, 2016. I was approved in October as sponsor and it was send to mexico. On january 2017 they asked for 2 pictures and to pay permanent resident fee 490$. Since then we have not heard from them. We have small child. I gave birth alone here in canada. I went back to RD to visit my husband for 3 month. I am struggling here alone I need my husbands help. I do not know what to do. I has been 13 month and NOTHING. I have a dpression and 1 year old on my hands. I have no help.
I'm really sorry you have to go through this situation, I'm also by myself in Canada and gave birth to my baby 5 weeks ago. it is really sad not being with the husband, we only have 8 months into this process and it seems an eternity.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp Processing times may be longer than expected due to the earthquake in Mexico.:(:(
Oh my!! why would it take more time... I read some other place that the embassy wasn't affected, sorry this is not ideal.:( Just another reason to worry and to be anxious...

Does anyone know when they will ask for new police certificates? My partner submitted his police certificate from Chile (certificado de antecedentes) with his application upfront and it was dated November 13, 2016. I thought police certificates were only good for 1 year maximum. I am just wondering because someone else I know who also applied in January got a request to send in a new police certificate for her husband, but we have not been asked to submit a new one. Is this at the discretion of the officer too or does a current certificate (less than 1 year old) have to be in the file before they issue a PR visa?

Thats crazy! 2 years? I recieved an e.mail about a month ago . I had to renew medicals and police certifate as they were issued last yr for my husband . It realy sucks. Goodluck to you . The Mex Office wnats the orginal police certificate but my husband who is in El Salvador says the post office is not sending any mail to Mexico so I have emailed them about it. I feel that processing times will be longer due to earthquake :(((((

It's ok guys. If your spouse is living outside of Canada it will still take the same amount of time 12 months. The bad news is for the people who's spouse is living with them in Canada it could take up to 26 months.

Congratulations!!! I got my PPR today too!!!!, we have similar timelines, and I have the same question since I'm visiting my husband in Canada. I only need to send a copy of my passport but I don't know If I can send it from here, or I really need to go to Mexico to do it from there.
