Not yet, too early in the game to order them since criminal & security have not started or are just about to start.... does your ECAS say anything about your criminal & security checks?

Normally they start after eligibility is determined. I assume they would start in next few weeks. I do not have GCMS notes to verify this, but normally security and criminality is not done by CIC. Eligibility undergoes 2 reviews, one at Mexico and one at Mississauga. And my guess is Mexico eligibility review is over. ( This is from understanding how applications are processed [ sponsoship applications ] from last few years ]. Eagle333 has a thread to discuss this ( http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/old-in-process-vs-new-in-process-on-ecas-explained-t363793.3.html and http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now-t390292.0.html ).

Mycic account information has been changed, I received an email 3 am. My husband's medical exam expired on October 22. The status on the my cic was "Passed" since August( the medical was upfront), and it changed to "not needed at this time", it means "Not needed at this time means we have not yet received an application for permanent residence. You need an invitation to apply before you can submit an application for permanent residence."
We haven't received any re medical request, we submitted our application on December 6,2015.

and CIC will probably say oh it's just that they don't have another status to put it to for e.g. Extended ... how difficult is that for them? did you get in touch with them or are you doing so?

I am just afraid that by contacting the MVO will slow down the processing time even more. And all they will tell me probably will be all what I have seen...such as be patient, your application is being processed, keep the correspondence to a minimum...
I have requested my notes but nothing received. I also requested status updates from my MP, not reply yet either.

In this case I wouldn't be afraid because they are giving you unclear info. If they tell you to be patient you should not be afraid to tell them to be precise. I'm sure they would understand if they were in your shoes. Clarification is very important in this process, especially when it says that: we have not received an application. It's not a status that we can easily ignore. In any case, it's their mistake not yours, you still have your UCI and Application number so that's 2 ways to confirm they do have your app but still, they should put a proper status, one that gives us peace of mind with all the waiting that we do!

I agree with you. Thank you! I will do it tonight.

Hi there, I got a question. For the ones that have their spouses in Canada, do you know how long they are able to stay as tourist?? I heard it is 6 months but wanted to confirm it. Usually the borders agents writes down on your passport the time you are allowed to stay, but my wife's passport does not show it. Thank you!

Usually if they don't specify the date on the entry stamp, it's six months. U can apply to extend before reaching the six months for another six months.

Hi Capin ,

don't be alarmed that your medical status changed to Not needed at this time , and I guarantee to you it doesn't mean ( it means "Not needed at this time means we have not yet received an application for permanent residence. You need an invitation to apply before you can submit an application for permanent residence." ) that's a general explanation that CIC had put there and it's not specific to your exact case .

Chances are your medical has expired , CIC didn't extend it and they don't need new ones at this time , they will inform you in writing if one is needed when time comes .

You can use your MP help to check on the status of your medicals .
