What happens to PPR after Dec 1? My wife wants to stay with me in Canada for few weeks since Mexico would be visa exempt country eff Dec 1. Would MXVO still request for passports? As an ex: For US citizens, processed through Ottawa, COPR is send in email, and there is no PPR.

Seems like they really stopped giving PPRs... from application received in late August 2015. Is there a limited quantity of PR they can issue each year and they might have already reached the limit?

well, the last PPR have been seen in the Mexico Forum was from FPEESH on 16 September is a November 2015 applicant! (from Nicaragua) and Carlos/Mariah on 01 september, is a December 2015 Applicant! (from Mexico)...

So maybe guys, January 2016 is almost in the corner... (Im still thinking that we are in the same batch)

I checked online and it says sept. 20 they started the
Process in Mexico City. Didn't get email from lawyer like
Other notifications. Unless in the next week I will.

Now let's see how long before we receive info for ARC,
Interview....and all the other stuff! I'm hoping by 2018
I'm done with application!

It could very well happen closer to Dec. I have read in forum once you submit passport, it could take upto 45 days to send it back. Logically speaking, once we cross November, i believe all they would be doing is sending COPR through email. Eliminates Passport process.

Noticed that Ecas status now shows new line added:
"We sent you correspondence on September 27, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required."


We applied for PGR certificate today at Mexico City. We carried only the printout of letter sent by embassy that is addressed to PGR. They let me know to expect the PGR letter in 10 business days, although the finger print agency told us to call in 4 business days. My wife actually talked to 5 people in PGR office today, because PGR page gives a link to a form, that you have to carry to bank for paying 150 pesos, and the link was not working. All 5 except one asked my wife to come to PGR next week, except 5th one, who said the forms are available in PGR.

My wife says fingerprinting is done at a different place, and not at PGR office. It was very tricky to find the fingerprinting office. The office location is not documented very well, anywhere.

Are you sure they email CoPR , I think the send it in the mail and you have to keep originals until you become Citizen .

After Dec. 1st, Mexico will no longer need PPR we will just get COPR

Its good to know, email printout for PGR request is acceptable....I'm in Guadalajara so everything gets done at PGR office (including fingerprints). I will bring my proof of payment..

Im doing my process through an innmigration advisor. Im from mexico by the way. The only thing I've been told lately its that I have to wait until we get the notes and to be patience. I'm just freaking out here, thinking that something is wrong , but my advisor says that this is a general situation that more than a dozen of cases have the same delay in the "Passport requests" stage. How else can I contact them? Im not doing anything because Im paying someone to do it for me and help me, but this is an agony...

Hi Maria, Immigration Consultants don't really want to bother CIC unless your application is being processed very slow. Order your notes (I haven't looked at your timelines). When did Mexico City VO began processing your file? I'm a May applicant and things seem to be going at a very good speed for me and a couple of other members in this forum....
