Although my wife is Mexican, I am slowly learning Spanish. I went through PGR website, and it is very difficult to ccmprehend. Could anyone let me know what documents are required for applying PGR? Photos ? Likely I will need to wait until my wife reads it.

Hi nartcr, tell your wife to go on the PGR page and read what is required for the Constancia de Antesedentes Registrales. There are various documents that she needs to bring (original & copies) & has to pay $150.00 pesos, prior to going to PGR. Also, the pictures have to be passport size (colored) "no makeup"etc. I'm anxious to get my request since I'm right behind you in this process. Good luck with everything.

Hey Everyone! Fellow May applicant here. We received the PGR request today!

Congratulations shaffi.martinez!!

I feel like they're changing up their processing style, asking for PGR sooner and payment of Rprf fee already. I just hope it stays within a year of processing in total. Its so difficult to be in this situation. Just some questions, it says to use the pgr request letter to obtain pgr but then it also says the original letter will be mailed to us. Does that mean I have to wait to receive the original letter and then apply for PGR with that? Or can I use the copy in the email. Only reason I ask is because our correspondence address is for our lawyer in Canada. So it will take time to get the letter to Mexico. And do we also have to get the PGR request translated? That will also add on to the time. And we have only been given 30 days!!

Thanks Nartcr and bellatopazio yours is next!

PGR has to be translated. I will take email copy and go to PGR. I didn't see anything regarding original letter requirement.

One more question is it normal they request PGR and RCMP background check at the same time? Or has anyone received the requests separately? Thanks.

I read on the PGR website "all documents requested, must be the original & a copy of such". You may want to contact the PGR office and ask if the email copy of the Police certificate request is sufficient. If they said that the original letter will be mailed, they meant to the address in Mexico not Canada (that's if you're partner is currently in Mexico). Yes, Police certificate needs to be translated..

It's probably normal to ask you for both at the same time since you need them. I sent my FBI PCC already so I'm just waiting for my PGR request...

You might find the spreadsheet helpful. It's called "Mexico City VO Family Class Applicants – timeline spreadsheet" and it can be found earlier in this discussion thread. Unfortunately I don't know how to send you a hyperlink to it - this program is blocking me from doing so.

Enter your info so we can all see where we're at. :)

Have contacted them? Or requested your notes? Just to see where are they at in your file...
