Hello again Gal

I actually wrote an email to my local MP already because the lady I was talking to when I went for dinner (Mexican restaurant, REAL Mexicans lol) said her son was having issues when he was trying to bring his wife here and their local MP was able to help. Hopefully it will be of some help, I guess an MP can place some motivational pressure on them. I called the CIC call centre again and finally found somebody there with some brains (I can't BELIEVE how many times you get a different answer it's like are they TRAINED??) he was able to access the file and tell me it IS in fact IN Mexico City and was received not lost or misdirected, hopefully the only reason we haven't heard anything yet is that his file has a complication and possibly they might be requiring some more information from him so they are going through the whole thing before they contact us with what they need!!

I will definitely keep everyone posted when I know more, does anyone know of stories of people from Mexico who were spousally sponsored and refused and what grounds they were refused on??

Btw my name is Dawn!
Thanks everyone

Hi! :)

I paid a little more than 200 CAN. Taxes and everything.
You might be able to get a better deal, I only chose this doctor because he is sooo close to where we're living.
I'll repost later with the exact amount. :)

Outland permanent residency from Mexico to go to canada

Hello my husband and I are applying for permanent residency. He is Mexican and i am Canadian. We are applying for outland and have all the forms but some questions are confusing, can anyone help? Please:)

Just a quick overview of us.
I stay in Cabo with my husband for two months and go back for 2 weeks to work then go back to Mexico. I rent out my place in Canada and when i go back there i stay with my parents.

#1 Is my mailing address my parents place because thats where i stay when i'm in Canada?
#2 Is my residential Address my condo in Canada because i own it?
#3 My telephone number ??? Seeing as i am in Mexico for 2 months at a time and only in Canada for two weeks at a time do i give them my Mexican #?
#4 On the form IMM 1344 ( sponsoship undertaking) section J says city/town____________ Province_____________ and sponsors signature.
What do i put for city or town and province?

#5 Sponsor questionnaire, question #11 Are you living in Canada (yes or no) and then it says since when??? What doe sthat mean since when?
question #12 says Do you live with anyone? Do i say yes because i live with my husband when i am in Mexico?

I know this is all confusing and i hope i made myself clear.

Can anyone help?????

Hi Canda,

When we did our app, I put my personal address for both and when we moved, I just updated that online. If I were you, put whichever address is more likely for the mail to get checked regularly. The same goes for your phone number. Give them the number that you use the most. They never called us until Miguel got approved for PR. On IMM 1344, put the city where you live - the same you used for your address. For question 5, where do you normally live? It sounds like the majority of your time is spent in Canada. I'd put that you live in Canada, but write a brief description as an attachment of your living situation in Mexico, so there's no confusion.

Hope this helps! Good luck!!

How's everyone else doing? It's been awhile since I've checked this site. We're settling in to Toronto, and have finally found an apartment :) Yay! I hope everyone gets good news soon!

i just dropped my constancia de antecedentes registrales in the embassy 5 days ago. i receivied the letter aug 20th in the mail. at this time i was out of mexico city because i was having a little honey moon with my husband in Sayulita , Mex. I came back to mexico city in Sep 9th and i opened the letter and that one was dated july 27th and i noticed i just had 60 days since the date of the letter. the criminal record take 10 days besides was a long weekend in mexico for independence day celebrations . so stressful !!!! i wrote an email to embassy asking for a couple days explaning a i receivied the letter 3 weeks after they gave me 40 days more . finally i made it 2 days after of the 60 days.

my husband and i are heading down to the coast. we are waiting most of the process together in puerto escondido .

Unfortunately the ARC interview 7 months later was much more brutal. Before my husband even sat down, the officer stated he had already thought our application through and was declining. The interview was just a chance for my husband to change the officer's mind (apparently). It was a man with multiple tattoos and earrings, from Quebec. He was mean and discouraging. He said he didn't care about our relationship, even said "yah, you're in love, blah blah blah, i'm not disputing that", but mainly focused on the "why didn't you leave canada", etc. issue.
He made several comments about my ability to simply move to mexico to be with my husband and that we could do rather well there (hah! i barely speak a word of spanish, maybe 1 short sentence, and would need to apply for residency in order to work there, i think minimum wage is $4 a day???---and the process takes a long time). Not to mention being away from my family and handing the keys to our house over to the bank and abandoning my entire life. Nice work buddy!
Anyway, my husband was calm and answered his questions.
In the end, he asked if the application was really declined, the office confirmed, yes it was on the spot! As he was convinced that we
could start a life in Mexico.
Is this a recruitment office? or Immigration? Boy! they are trying hard to bring some blondes down there!

Anyway, i really don't think you can judge how your application will turn out if it's given in Spanish or English, and by what questions they ask you. It's all strategy and probably different approach from one applicant to the next. It's nice to have a little hope in the meantime while you're waiting for the response though. In our case, even though he said we were declined we still rationalized that perhaps it was some sort of strategy to see how my husband would react.

Well that's our interiew story.

Hope our info helps.
Ok I am scared over here now, I was refujee in Canada, and then I order to leave I did voluntree, because my lawyer said it is ok, we applied for sponser through my wife, but none tell us there interview for ARC

Hello!,

My wife and I (her canadian -- Jenny, me mexican -- Adrian) have just started the immigration process.

We got married in August 08 and started the process on Sept 18. Still no answer ... of any kind.

I'm hoping we receive a notification that they at least received it in Mississauga any time soon :)
