Hi everyone,

First of all, the spreadsheet is looking great! Thanks CANzanillo!

We recently received stage 2 AOR, 97 days after receiving SA, I thought it was never going to come! Anyways, they asked us for an updated Schedule A Background / Declaration form (IMM 5669) detailing activity for the past 20 years (since turning 18). I thought this was a bit strange, we originally filled out the info for the past 10 years as per the application instructions, any idea why they would need more information? We're a fairly straight forward case, we've been living together in Chile for 6 years, were married in Canada 2 years ago, and have a 4y/o son. Also my husband is a University educated, has always been employed, etc. There shouldn't be any red flags however I'm now a little concerned..

Also, does anyone know what the next step is? I'm praying we don't get called for an interview since we're now located in Canada, and it would be kind of a pain to have to travel back to Chile (although we knew that was a possibility before we moved to Canada).

Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!
Good Morning tricia-chile!

Por Nada! Hopefully we can improve the spreadsheet and make it a useful tool to track our applications.

I don't know that I have too many words of wisdom for you... You appear to have completed the IMM 5669 form correctly providing 10 (most recent) years of background. Perhaps there are other details of the form that they would want clarification on. Nonetheless, of course, best to get the updated form in to the VO asap to avoid more delays. Hopefully, they won't ask for an interview, as you say, your application seems pretty straightforward.

Your husband provided a police report upfront if I'm not mistaken, so barring additional documentation requests or expired medicals I would assume they would be sending you a passport request once they've finished all their vetting out.

Perhaps some with more experience would like to comment...

Best wishes for a successful application.

We were asked for the same. Although they say to put in info for the last ten years it isn't always true. Depending on the officer they actually want info from the time the applicant turned 18. We put in from ten years ago and were asked to update the form from the date that my wife turned 18.

Same thing for me. Schedule a. My hubby is 38 years old and originally we did for the past 10 years but they wanted back to when he was 18. Really annoying. What for anyways? He doesn't have contact info for the jobs he worked there's no way even to prove if what we say is true or not. Whatever. Also you should know that if you get an interview it might not even be in Chile. My husband is Costa rican and we had to travel to El Salvador for the interview.

Thank you, JAMO1973 and agarand8.. I'm glad to know we weren't the only ones who had to provide more background information. We sent the updated information last week so I'm hoping they receive it and we can move on to the next step.

Agarand8, I really don't understand how they can make you travel internationally for an interview! I'm sure that would be complicated for many applicants. Fingers crossed the interview is waived for us..

I took the liberty to start entering your application timeline data in the Mexico spreadsheet. Hope you don't mind. Please have a look to confirm its accuracy.

Thanks!

Yeah, my mind was blown. I sent an email asking why we couldn't have our interview in Costa rica and they just said that there's no plans for a group to go to Costa Rica and we're invited to the interview in El Salvador and if we don't show up then they'll assess based on what they have and our application could be denied. So of course we went. Flights alone cost me $1500.

Thanks I used to be on there actually. I added myself last year, not sure what happened. I'll check tomorrow at work and make sure it's all right. Thank you.

Hey, sorry to bother you but you're the only other Costa Rica applicant so I was wondering what they asked for. I know the Schedule A is basically standard but did they ask for a police check or any other forms? We submitted a police check when we first applied but I can't remember now if it had an expiration date. Thanks!

They made us update schedule A from when he was 18 years old. So that sucked. You should be good with the police check because even though it expires after 3 months they will accept it as long as they receive it at Mississauga before it expires. So don't worry, you shouldn't have to get a new one.

Oh HAPPY HAPPY DAY! Got AOR/PGR just moments ago. Now hoping the PGR office in Bucerias can do the PGR, the girl on the phone my husband spoke to yesterday wasn't really sure and said he may have to go to the Regional office in Tepic. And odd additional information request - photos of his tattoos... but I get it, I guess they want to ensure they aren't gang related or anything.

Congratulations tishness! Hopefully they can do the PGR locally. Do you have to get fingerprints done? If so, where? Right at the PGR office? I'm just try to understand what we are going to have to do here in Manzanillo when ( hopefully) the time arrives! ;D

BTW I updated your Stage 2 AOR in the Mexico spreadsheet. Please update the PGR date once you send it in... Thanks!!

You can now get the PGR certificate in any state office of the PGR. When you go there they will fingerprint you in the office and it will take approximately 10 business days to get the actual certificate. Cic will send you an e-mail/letter to take to the PGR. You will need 2 passport photos from the front and 2 from the right profile. You also need a "comprobante de domicilio and your ife or passport. You also need to print the voucher to take to the bank to make your payment BEFORE you go to the PGR office.

Spreadsheet update!

Yesterday I worked extensively on the spreadsheet updating many usernames back from 2012/2013 using information from their profiles on canadavisa. I also changed the color coding to make the spreadsheet more legible generally. I added a column at the end of the spreadsheet for notes. I noted which usernames I added/updated in the notes section. But feel free to add notes relevant to your application process. In general I will continue to clean up/improve the spreadsheet.

Wishing successful and quick application processing for everyone!
