im just shy of 23 for example and we met and moved in 2 months after meeting when i was 19.

The interview is based on the quality of evidence you sent it. Not your age.
So if u feel u sent in strong evidence to support ur relationship. You should be fine. :)

Dazz ,

Thank you for your words they were really nice & I think Im more worry cuz my husband and I got married at 18 so Im scare they are going to refuse our application cuz of that :'( We send alot of proof such as wedding pictures , family reunions , pictures of us , plain tickets , western unio recips , emails btw us but Im freaking out cuz wat if they dont thinkt thats enought ! you are right Im gonna stay away from the computer and anything that has to do with this process its driving me nuts & the fact that I check our application status pretty much everyday doesnt help much lol ! good luck to your family & you ...... might great things still come your way !! :)
Frida,

let me say this...our immigration are not here to judge whether you are too young or not, they want to know if this is legitimate or a scam. how long have you been with your husband and do you have proof that you and him will be able to live without having to use social services and have you provided photos of your family and friends with the two of you?

Thanks Farfelu. We went to the "Transito" today (National police) and got a "certificado de licencia" - it basically says when my husbands license was issued, when it expires etc and that he has never had any fines or tickets. It doesn't explicitly say that he has been driving for 3+ years... it seems that kind of document doesn't exist here. (sigh!) I'm hoping it is good enough! I may call drive test to be sure.

Also, FYI we got my husband's passport back today with the visa! His passport was in Mexico for 7 days total. We also got all our photos back which is nice.

Now... to book a plane ticket! Has anyone ever applied for a transit visa through the states? I'm wondering how difficult this would be...
muchacha, congratulations! Your husband's passport made in back in record time, faster than ours which we are still waiting, it should arrive later today according to the UPS tracking system.

And about the certificado de licencia, I think you should be ok with that, so check with DriveTest if you can just to be sure and please post here what they tell you as other forum members may be going through the same issue.

Enjoy and good luck with plane ticket hunting!

Have any of you submitted your passport in person at the embassy? Do you in fact get it back the same day?

Thanks!

YES, I do think its enough...the basic requirements have to fall into some categories...sincere/credible relationship without motives and financial stability...meaning can they (you and your husband) live a life without you asking for social assistance and will you be a burden to our society or will you contribute to our society...I believe thiese will be the deciding factors. if you have an education or have provided information that you are willing and able to go to school or work then I think this will be no problem...Canada needs young people! I really think you will be ok, sometimes I think they look at other cases and try to move them faster because there are bigger families involved...like mine...together my wife and I have 5 kids so I think they wanted to unite us as quickly as possible. Our case took a little more than 5.5 months from the sposnorship approval to the visa approvals...you may be lucky or you may wait a little longer...i dont think more than 9 or 10 months, but if it is don't be worried because they say it is an average of 13 months...during the time you wait maybe you should take some courses so you can be prepared for when you arrive!

Ive also seen common-law applications go through in 4-6 months where there are no kids involved, no interview and the couple is young.

it really depends on the evidence and the officer.
but I would agree I don't think it should take longer than 6-8 months to process it.

im not sure about translations

but as for the police check,
first your send your application to ontario, than the sponsor gets approved for step 1, than the file is transfered to mexico city. after they receive it, you will get an AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) and in that they will also send u a letter and insctructions about how to get your police certificate.
you cant get it before they send out the letter to you.
Thanks very much for your help and information. :)

an about the medical exam.

At doctors office they said that the results of medical test are send to Ottawa directly.

So which document I am supposed to sent with my application?

Thanks very much!

they will give you some papers, 2 I believe, both are receipts. you will send the papers the doctors gives you, in with your application, as proof you paid for the medical and got it done. :)
