sorry to keep bothering you OhCanadiana,

although I already thanked you and responded once...I do have another question!

will decisions take longer if she is bringing her children? we do have the correct forms signed and notarized from a lawyer!

on another note...I noticed some people on here have mentioned they are going to pay their fees...after the info has already been sent...also, I saw some people haven't fully completed all the paper work but still sent it in ie...police report and medical...is this true or am I reading all this wrong! we did our package fully completed and paid along with the recipt attached...why would people not complete the package the first time?
Adding children doesn't make a substantial difference in timing if everyone goes through the process in parallel (e.g., everyone gets their medical exams the same day).

Regarding your questions regarding complete applications:
- You don't have to pay the RPRF until your application is approved so some people choose to wait and pay for it with the passport request. It saves you a step and potential delay if you pay for it all upfront (and it is refundable if you decide not to get the visa for some reason).
- For some countries you can't get police certificates upfront before applying (e.g. the PGR requires an official government request letter)
- CIC requests family class applicants to submit their medical upfront with their applications. However, applicants from other visa classes (e.g., foreign skilled workers, etc) cannot submit them until the visa office requests them.

Aaah - got it. Any commercial flight should be fine. If it involves a connection within Canada, plan for an extended connection since he'll land at the first port of entry. If he lands in Québec, he should have proof of ongoing travel and that he'll settle in another province (unless you have a CSQ).

IIRC, canadianboy78's visa took around a week (or just over with 2 weekends involved) to be issued and returned, but that was back in July. Hopefully someone can chime in with more recent data for you. It's always tough on Sundays to figure out what 'next week' means. If you mean around Nov 15, I would plan to definitely have him go to the Embassy in person. If you mean the 22nd and he can send it tomorrow, you may just make it (but don't buy the plane ticket yet, just in case).

If he decides to go to Mexico City to get the visa and CoPR issued the same day, you could consider having him go to Mexico City and then fly from there to Canada. I took a quick peek and it looks like US Air has the cheapest flights for $211 all in and Air Canada has non-stop flights for $280 several days from Mexico City to Toronto.

It's so exciting that he's so close to the finish line! Can't wait to hear he's landed safe and sound.
Yes we are super excited! I am so excited for him to come back as a PR, that is what is keeping us going! Such a wonderful feeling, thanks for your well wishes, they are very much appreciated.

The Medical varies between doctors - eduram shared the price for Mexico City (they all work together so the three physicians usually have the same price there). Give the others a call - their phone numbers are at http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?CountryID=2041&CountryName=Mexico

The SSP certificate is free of charge. The PGR is $130 pesos payable through 35cinco or your bank - see details at http://www.pgr.gob.mx/Servicios/Constancia/antecedentes%20registrales.asp.
Thanks so much ! !!!!

Hi :)

Anyone here who is being sponsored as a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, that included his/her accompanying dependent children from previous relationship in the application?

Does it take longer to get PPR?

I would like to hear your experience.

Thanks :)

I'm surprised at just how calm I was only a few days ago and to now realize that having these past 3 days without anyone viewing our case because of the weekend and holiday is getting to me! I also remember at the beginning I'd read these comments and just think to myself...ahhh I'll be fine...and now I soo badly want to be in the 20% group that somehow miraculously receive a notification for the PPR...I know I'm dreaming but its been 3.5 years living this way and although the end seems close...its still pretty far! Am I crazy or is it like this for others?

I am sponsoring my wife from Monterrey, NL...I asked that very same question yesterday and was told it wont change much. i believe the children must have the proper documentation signed and translated...then notarized...other than that everything should be fine!

I havent seen many cases go through mexico city with dependents on the application, but assuming all their paperwork is in order I imagine it would be around the same processing time as a case without, though I am not entirely sure. Things that increase processing times are previous issues with immigration (refugee claims, etc), criminal records, security screening, the VO questioning the genuineness of the relationship, not fully completing application and providing the additional documents, etc..And then there are things that can increase your processing times that you have no control over, like your medicals not being recieved, embassy has lost some paperwork etc

If you dont mind, can you give me a little more info? Are you married, common-law or conjugal? What proof did you provide with your initial application?
