From where?

from Guadalajara, vallarta, leon or somewhere close. I know there is a flight from Mexico city but it would be a bit complicated for me to take the flight there.

thanks for any advice.

Normally, westjet flies direct to Vancouver on Saturday. They also fly direct to Comox on Saturdays if you are going to the island.
This is only the case in high season so they should resume this month!

oscar, you send your documents to the PO Box 3000 address (<a href="http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp#3900E6">the first one in your post</a>). I'm assuming you're still working on the Federal immigration portion and will later submit the Quebec application to the MICC.

Also keep in mind that you can ship your package by courier if you dont consider postal service reliable where you are. If you do use a courier service (UPS, DHL, FedEx...) you'll need to ship to the courier address:
2 Robert Speck Parkway,
Suite 1200
Mississauga, ON
L4Z 1H8

Awesome, will do! Thanks once again for your help, Farfelu!
I'm planning on mailing my application kit in a few days. When I do, I'll be sure to add my timeline on here. ;)

Here's another question, completely unrelated to the mailing address...
I noticed on the "Québec Immigration" website this paragraph...

USEFUL INFORMATION:

If you are abroad when you submit your application, contact the Canadian Embassy covering your territory. This procedure, however, is restricted to the sponsorship of a spouse, de facto spouse, conjugal partner or a dependent child who is childless.

Does anyone know what that's all about? My wife is a Canadian citizen (from Québec) and has been living with me here in Mexico City for the past year. Why does she have to contact the Canadian Embassy? What are they going to tell her? Does anyone know?

WestJet has direct flights from Puerto Vallarta to Vancouver daily (other than Fridays) through November and December.

The cheapest one way seems to be currently at $3317 MXP (including taxes and fees) - it's available next week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, for example but the rates do vary throughout the month.

Yeah the address is: Avenida Lopez Portillo S/N . Col. Region 93 . Cancún Q. Roo . Tel. (998)840-4186

:) Just be sure to call ahead and ask what requirements they need. When we called they said they wanted passport size photos but on the PGR site they say they want the oval shape, people have been turned back because of stuff like that so its always good to call ahead. Also, make sure your bf has his precartilla and/or cartilla liberada or else they wont do a PGR check on him!

Ok thanks for the tip!!

I think because they want to know if the sponsor is a citizen or resident, because if ur a resident your not suppose to be outside canada during the process, but if your a citizen your allowed to be.
also if you are living outside, they also want to know, so they can ask for information and proof that you will return to canada once sponsorship is approved.

in our case. we applied in january 2012. and me and my spouse left to mexico in april. but since im a citizen and only here less than 6 months at a time, like i came for 5.5 months, went back to canada for 3 weeks and returned to renew my tourist visa. I didnt have to tell the government I was here, because im only a tourist for less than 6 months at a time.

hope that makes sense
:)

Hey guys when i got my AOR email it saids that the process takes an average of 6 months
What i dont know if the six months start to count from the moment they send me the AOR email
or from the moment that my file was transferred to the office

Just wondering, does everyone's AOR give a time frame like this? WanttobeinCanada, did your AOR mention anything at all about you being from El Salvador instead of from Mexico? And, any changes to your Ecas status?

PS Big FELICIDADES to everyone who has posted good news! It was great to read through this thread this morning :)

Well my AOR didnt say anything about me being from el salvador
But before sending me the AOR they called me at home just to advise me that they were about to send me some information.
I asked the lady about what kind of information will they be needing and she told me that everything they need from me
was included and the email, we just want to speed up the process she said.
But i've been reading my AOR a few times and i dont see where it saids ''We need this information from you'' in my AOR there's only
instruction, nothing else ::)

As for my ecas status, well it hasn't change yet :-X
Still saying application received
