We only got two. The AOR and then The Police checks letter. This is what the whole second letter says:

<snip>
*** PROVIDE OUR OFFICE THE ORIGINAL POLICE CERTIFICATES***

Sincerely
Immigration Section (AMA)[/b]

So they are asking for originals, which is why I assumed they are asking for the Constancia, rather than the informe.. But they never sent us anything like a PGR lette, or even mentioned they would.. which is why I am confused.

Both the Constancia and Informe are originals and they aren't asking for a specific one (yet). What they sent you is just a form letter with general info on how to get the PCs - I don't think you have anything to worry about since you should meet their requirement for the "original police certificate" as soon as your MIL gets the PGR document to them.

your spouses ecase mailing address is canada.. so they know this and wouldnt send you a letter, because they only send a letter if your inside mexico
:)

Actually, while his mailing address may be in Canada, from an immigration standpoint my understanding is that Mr. mc1234 is in Canada as a non-resident visitor (unless I missed him getting a work permit, study permit or some other immigration status along the way) and therefore Mexico would still be officially where he 'lives.'

Yes, true.. but our immigration consultant said if your mailing address is in canada, they expect you to get the police check via mexican embassy, because they dont know how the mexican individual is in canada whether it be tourist, student, refugee etc. they just know thats where they are hence the mailing address. They wont go out of their way to find this out, they just go with the information you provide for your mailing address.

the same thing happened with us, we had my husbands mailing address as canada and they never sent us a letter for the pgr, untill we emailed them with a change of address to mexico than they requested a prepaid way bill for the pgr letter.
:D

Okay, great. Thanks everyone for your info!

The only number I´ve got is the IMM 5401 (Receipt number) do I give this number when I drop off my ssp at the embassy? How can I get my file number or client id number?

Also, to the people that has recently gone to get their SSP, at what time is it ok to arrive since they open at 9? I´d have to go from Tlalpan to Polanco via subway to drop it off at the embassy before noon.

Any thoughts?

They didnt give you a file number yet?
i think you would need this to drop off any documents at the embassy.

i think the ssp is only open from 2pm-7pm, you can call to confirm but i believe only 2-7
we went at 2 on a friday and only had to wait about 5 minutes in total. it was very fast
but tsuaretbaxters husband went at 1:50 on a thursday and had to wait 2 hours in line before he got in to get the ssp.

Did you receive your sponsorship approval letter? The file and UCI # will be on there, if not you (or your spouse) can call the CIC call center in Canada and ask.

Yeah, I don't know what took him so long. But everyone else says they got theirs pretty quickly.

I guess I have one since the sponsorship was approved and all but my husband never got the letter they say they sent. He had to call the call centre to ask what the decision on his sponsorship was.

According to the SRE website the calzada de tlalpan SSP office opens from 9am to 5 pm. Im planning on arriving there at 7 and try to beat everyone that day :D

Now I just have to find the file number....and get my AOR....I need a drink :P

We never got it. He had to call and ask and apparently they didn´t give him any number, just said the sponsorship was approved.

oh really!! okay so they did change their hours.
I heard they might have changed them when they moved locations.
lol i think if you go at 830 you will be fine.
remember mexicans like to come late to everything, me and my husband make jokes because when we go to a movie if it starts at 5 we are there at 4:50, but everyone else comes at 5:05-5:15 lol.

Trying calling cic if possible and getting he file number.
:D

Our approval letter never arrived in the mail either. You should be able to call CIC and get your UCI and file numbers. Did you not get an AOR from Mexico City? It is on there too.
