At the end of this month my spouse has spent 6 months in Canada, last year he spent 5 months and three weeks. Do you think they will ask him for a Canadian police check? If so, which one and how can we start preparing for it?

Probably not. They perform their own Canadian background checks and they rarely ask for it.

I really don't know. I would think it would be for only places he has lived.. and right now he's considered visiting Canada, not living here. And he's here legally. If you did, it shouldn't be that difficult since he is here to do the paperwork.

yeah it was a request for a medical redo.
but still no aor lol i dont think we will get one at this point

So did we! And they do, but when we called them they said they didn't lol!

we had problems with the mexico embassy in vancouver too!
they were soooo rude! to me and my husband and hes mexican!! lol.
but everytime we asked for something they all had a different answer. noone knew what was going on.

There was a big scandal recently with the Mexican consulate in Vancouver. Some Mexicans went there to hand in a letter disapproving the electoral fraud in Mexico. They wanted to kick them out and were humiliating them! So I wouldn't be surprised if they were rude to you. Here's the video for whoever wants to watch it (It's in Spanish though)

wow really!! i knew there was some protests and stuff alot of our mexican friends in vancouver were involved. but i didnt hear about the embassy problems

No wonder Mexicans want to live anywhere else but Mexico when they are treated like that by peope who are suppose to support them and represent them.

I cant believe they were treated like that in their own consulate!
No wonder Mexicans want to live anywhere else but Mexico when they are treated like that by peope who are suppose to support them and represent them.

I wish I could say this is an isolated incident, but unfortunately it isn't. The main problem with this country is that Mexicans don't know how to work as a team. We have a very individualistic society. The common attitude here is "If I'm doing well, screw the rest! If I'm struggling then I'll make sure you struggle as well" I can't believe how such a great country with resources, excellent geography and all the tools to succeed can't give a proper quality of life to all it's citizens, but then I just need to step outside for a few minutes and I notice everything that's wrong with this country.

Never let your hubbies get this superiority and individualistic complex.

Yes I was just talking to a friend about that exact thing. everyone looks out for themselves and doesnt work as a team. huge problem.
The country could be soo great if the people had a different mentality. Its sad and complicated.

Yes I am so happy my hubby sees all thats wrong with Mexico and knows the problems, isnt oblivious to them. Probably another reason he is miserable being here and cant wait for the day we can go back to Canada.

Anyways It makes me very greatful for Canada

It is Friday and they haven't sent the passport back yet. I keep checking the pre-paid FedEx tracking number and nothing yet
Maybe it will be sent next week.
