Where do you go to drop off documents once at the embassy??

You just tell the security that you are dropping off documents and once they let you in, you pick a number at the entrance...there is one for permanent residence applications, I think. Then you just wait till they call your number and give them to the guy at the window. Make sure you put your file number and UCI number on them!

No AOR yet but we should be recieving it soon (three weeks on tuesday since our file has been transferred) My spouse is in Canada with me on a visitor visa and the Embassy of Mexico in Canada also issues the PGR letter so we will be getting it from there rather than waiting for the PGR letter from the embassy of Canada to be delivered!

@tbaxter, have you recieved AOR yet?

No we haven't received an AOR from Mexico City :( Chuludaa got hers in 3 weeks, yet LeisaP had to wait months!! So I really don't know what to expect. My husband sent a case specific inquiry last night to update his mailing address, and also asked for confirmation of receipt. (I had previously inquired, but got the rejection letter because I wasn't the applicant). He is also going to the embassy to drop off the SSP and a pre paid waybill. I am hoping they will tell him something then, or at least get the ball rolling. I know it hasn;t been that long.. but it feels like forever when you're apart in the mean time.

Yeah for sure. I dont know when to expect it either thats why were just going to go ahead with the PGR and SSR since we can, if it doesnt work we dont loose too much but if it helps to speed it up that would be awesome.

I hope we get AOR soon!

and still didnt get one!! lol

but just rememeber even if you dont get an AOR or you get it really late. they are definately still processing your application from when it gets sent to Mexico city.

so dont stress out as much as i did!. because for sure they are processing it even if they dont send you an AOR.
:)

Yes, I think that's a great idea! I have a feeling it will help speed it up.

What? What was the communication you got a couple of weeks ago? The PGR letter? Or the Medicals?

We will have to wait and see!

Oh, so incase anyone was wondering. A few pages back I was talking about the birth certificate fiasco. Well we called the embassy of Mexico in Canada twice to see if they offered service (to get a current birth certificate) They told us no, both times. Today we are looking at the all the services they offer, and guess what we see, a paper and form to fill out to get your birth certificate. >:( We were not impressed.

lol I'm sure that's something they should be able to offer.

So did we! And they do, but when we called them they said they didn't lol!

At the end of this month my spouse has spent 6 months in Canada, last year he spent 5 months and three weeks. Do you think they will ask him for a Canadian police check? If so, which one and how can we start preparing for it?
