lol!! :D but still, i have never heard of a police certificate only lasting 30 days!!.
maybe 3 months at the very minimum!

so will they send an email requesting this at the very very end than? must be at the very end if it only last 3 days

have you got ur ssp yet edgar?

if even they didnt request it. can we still go get one and hand it in anyways?

Yeah I already handed mine in. I actually went and got it without CIC requesting it. I was asked to submit an update state police check from Baja California, and while I was working on that, the requirements changed and I decided to get it "just in case"

Since it's so easy (and free!) to get, I would go get it before you leave Mexico City, it might help, and if it doesn't then it's not a big deal.

CIC has to receive a police certificates within 3 months of it being issued and it expires after a year (once it has expired, CIC may request a new one at their discretion). So, as long as he drops it off or sends it to the Embassy within the next couple months you should be fine. He can even include a pre-paid waybill for the PGR request letter while he's at it.

ETA: You guys are talking so fast, I can't post this (keep getting the message about new posts 8))

o okay this makes more sense! yes!! we are going to get the ssp next week and take it to the embassy and also give them a prepaid airway bill for the pgr request aswell!!.

but how do we get a prepaid airway bill?

Go to DHL and buy it there. The one in Sofocles 149 is familiar with the process. I just told them that I wanted a "Guia Prepagada para la Embajada de Canadá" and they had it within minutes, it costs 200 pesos and it's overnight shipping. You gotta have the address to where it will be mailed though.

so than we give this to the embassy and they will send the pgr request with this waybill to our parents address in puebla and once they send it, it should arrive the next day after they send it. or at least in 2 days if something happens?

Overnight, so next day for sure. Just make sure you also bring the embassy's address in case you get a newbie.

FYI it costs 200 pesos within Mexico City I believe. I remember someone saying it was 275 to send it all the way to Cancún. Around that price :P

LOL! I love that analogy. It does feel like a scavenger hunt and trying to outsmart the beast so you can have everything there the next time they look at your file to avoid going on hold :)

sorry i must have misunderstood something cuz i thought it as 30 days! but that sounds like a great plan to send the paid waybill in advance!

I came back over four years ago and started this whole process three years ago. THREE years ago lol. In three years:

I finished middle school.
I finished High School.
I could finish an undergraduate degree in Québec.
I could learn German or Mandarin.
I could learn how to play an instrument.

Ok I gotta stop..

"Saw" works. But I'm more in line with "Lost in Translation".
