awesome! I am hoping we recieve AOR from mexico soon, but who knows :(

It's coming soon for you, mc1234. I can feel it! And it's always the moment when you're not even thinking about it when it happens!

I hope so! Atleast my mind has been preoccupied trying to get this PGR stuff while we wait for the AOR. :)

That's true. And it is very cool that the Peel police can do the fingerprints. That's one less thing to worry about.

I know! I am very excited that they can and are economical. We have spent enough on this process!! lol

tbaxter, what state is your hubby in again?? We just found our local office for Cancun and we will be doing the PGR there.

He would get his done in Tabasco. He says he was told that it would take longer if you do it with state? (It makes sense, since I'm wondering if they forward it to Mexico City or something) But no one has mentioned it takes longer going through the state. But it's so easy to get wrong (or what I call lazy) information in Mexico.. so I'm not sure why he was told that.

The office in Cancun is actually taking less than Mexico city right now (they said 7-8 days, Mexico city 10 days) So I think they are giving him misinformation.. He should call and double check, sounds weird to me.

That's good news!! Yeah I'm going to get him to call again. Last time he called would have been around February when we were first submitting our app.

From what the newspapers say, they've been rolling out the program to state offices throughout the year (a batch was slated to open in August) so that's a good idea to get the latest info :)

Yeah i was actually really surprised at the Cancun office, the guy we talked to was surprisingly helpful!

That matches my experience. And, I'm really impressed that they saw the need and expanded the services (in less than a year) to the states to help folks avoid having to travel to Mexico City.

I agree.. now if only the embassy here would help us get the SSP we could avoid mexico city all together! But something tells me that is not going to happen. :P

Ask again, politely and patiently. You have time now and no other reason that takes you to Mexico City. It sounds like they just don't know (yet?) that they can do it (since it's a new request people are making).

Show them http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/mexico.asp. My understanding is that the SSP's position concurrs with the Canadian police certificate instructions.

We were planning asking them again this friday when we go there.. very nicely, along with the link you just gave.. hopefully it works!

Try to call the SSP before then too so you can give them that info too ;) I'll send good thoughts your way on Friday so that they process it for you!

Maybe the SSP could send us something to confirm this... Thank you very much I am really hoping this all works! lol.
