Anyway, Canadian passport size should work buuuuuut look at all the detailed requirements re:

Applicant can have no: makeup, earrings, glasses, beard, mustache, sideburns and all hair/bangs must be pulled back. The forehead and ears must be fully visible and completely uncovered (wetting hair down or major amounts of gel can help avoid any fly-aways).
The background must be white.
Also note that they request 3 photos of the front (remember: as zoomed in as possible) and 3 photos of the right profile (remember: as zoomed in as possible).

They will probably be the ugliest photos he's ever taken He'll love his passport and driver's license photos after this experience

I went to the migration office this morning and asked if it´s possible to get an extension on the visitor visa and the lady said no, not anymore. And that you would have to leave and then come back.

So it's been officially two weeks since I handed in my FBI police check and I haven't heard a thing.

CIC better send me something soon or I'll start sending emails and case-specific enquiries until my fingers hurt Lol.

To try to ease your worry (straight from the PGR site at http://www.pgr.gob.mx/Servicios/Constancia/antecedentes%20registrales.asp) here's the photo reqs:

"Dos fotografías a color sin retoque, tamaño pasaporte o filiación." That means mexican passport photos are fine, and of course the old-timey oval ones are OK too (known as "filiacion"). I know that we may be talking about the outside Mexico police report here, known as "informe de datos registrales." CIC clearly states that passport size is fine for that, but that would mean Mexican passport. I don't know that you should risk using Canadian passport photos unless you know the size is very similar.

We got the Mexican passport size and squared at first, and they would not accept them in the PGR. So we had to go take some new Filiacion/Ovaled ones and bring them in the next day.

Thanks everyone so much for your help. I think I will just call the PGR (or rather, when they finally pick up the phone) and find out exactly what it is they are looking for because the requirements for this seem to change so much its hard to keep up. From there I will decide what are our options. I haven't seen the filiacion in Canada, but then again maybe I was just never looking for that. Thanks again and will keep everyone posted
