Oh you have no idea how many issues I have had with my birth certificate in the 3 years I have been here! When I applied for my student visa they wouldn´t accept it so I had to get them a copy of my parent´s birth certificates and their marriage certificate!

And so when I got married I asked them if that would be a problem and they said no...so that was okay!

But just the other day I had to hand in my birth certificate to be able to do my thesis defence and the girl literally laughed in my face and says ¨is that it??? ....well we will see if they accept it...¨

you can request the long version of your birth certificate online.. i ordered it when i thought i needed it to be married in mexico but they didnt end up needing it.. it has all the information about your parents and where they were born.. i think it even names the dr who gave birth to you..
i didnt understand the point of the blood work the guy took our blood then we never heard anything about it again.. so who knows where it ended up.. i thought the mexico wedding pappers were really confusing we were soo stressed.. and i was only there for a week and a half so it was really stressful since they dont follow their timelines..

I just found out from mc1234 you can get a precartilla and they will accept that at the PGR office.
so dont worry to much if he doesnt have it!

I wish I had of known that about the birth certificates before!! lol
The blood work is to prove you don't have any blood diseases. I think that if you have HIV you can't marry... how crazy is that?
It would have been so hard to do in a week and a half, especially since we had to have all the paperwork together before we could make an appt. You must have gotten married right before you got on the plane :)

nice!. i have lots of friends in alberta from nova scotia :D

what made you want to move to fort mcmurray? out of curiousity.
its so far north lol.

Yeah we're everywhere in Alberta lol
Fort McMurray was purely because there are more jobs and better pay. There's obviously cons, but it gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to travel to Mexico and visit my husband while we wait, so I'm happy here :)

If you have HIV your still allowed to marry. i think because if you have a disease by law your suppose to tell your partner.
so i guess with the blood tests it lets you and your partner know what your getting into and to take care proper precaution to take care of yourselves.
;D

HELP!.
So my 6 months in mexico runs up on sept 28. so i need to leave and return.
I have to fly with air canada because i have $250 credit that I need to use before march 2013.

but the tickets are like $550!! or more! for pretty much all of september.
anddd I have to make a connecting flight in usa for all the flights

is there honestly no air canada flight that goes direct from GDL to Calgary Alberta. or Edmonton??
i have never had to transfer at an airport before so I am terrified i will get lost or late, or my luggage will be lost.

would it be possible or easier and less expensive for me to extend my visitor visa in mexico rather than spending almost $600 bucks to fly back to canada and than back to mexico again a week later.

any suggestionss??

hi,

I fly to Gdl quite often and unfortunately they don't have direct flights, all of them have a stop in the US. Air Canada has direct flights to Mexico City and you can find a pretty cheap flight to Gdl sometimes, have u looked into that? Transferring is not too bad, all depends how long your overlay time is. I flew with Air Canada a couple of times and they're pretty good about that, your luggage is safe too.

There are flights from mexico city to vancouver and then Edmonton or Calgary they cost around 344$ with all the taxes included. But ya you would have to transfer but at least you aren´t transfering in the states...

Not sure if there is a way to extend the visa----maybe go down to the instituto nacional de migracion and ask them!

I tried to ask them about this a month ago but they just kept telling me to just extend my student visa because it would be super complicated to get a normal tourist visa from here.

P.S. I have to go to the instituto nacional de migracion in Veracruz tomorrow....if you want I can ask them if there is a way to extend a visitor visa.

I wish I could fly from mexico city. But being in GDL ill have to bus to mexico city first anyways another 50-60 buks. So it would come out almost the same price.
Hmm.

Yes! Could you please ask if there's any way and what you need to extend a visitor visa. That would be so nice of you!! :) and so helpful! :)
