Just over a month then, not too bad!

So they do the AOR and then it sits in line for awhile?

What is the AOR? I don't know all the lingo yet :) Do you usually not get any confirmation from CIC until they actually start to process your application? What is the first correspondence you receive from them after sending in your application?

AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt.....only some people get those and others don't and you do not receive any correspondence until the AOR and/or Approval letter........ :(

Only some people get AOR for Step 1 but most visa officers send one out for Step 2.

Thanks! When do you get the information that allows you start tracking your application online?

You get it with the AOR if you get one. Or the approval letter.

Interesting. So I sent on Monday a Case Specific Inquiry telling them about the FBI document and they replied within two days!

I wonder if they're replying like this to everyone, or if they're giving me special consideration due to my ridiculously long and complicated process. :P

That's fast. I waited a week. So did you mail in your FBI stuff yet? What did the email say?

Edgarsitow...
Alesinha...
(or any other Québecer)...

I am getting ready to send the first Sponsorship application kit to Mississauga... so far I have a thick binder full of printed emails, pictures, relationship support letters from relatives, and things I cannot make copies of, like 40 calling cards clipped to their original receipts. My question is: Will that thick binder be forwarded to Québec once the Sponsorhip is approved on the federal level? Man I really hope so, for all the paper + ink + hours spent on that thing. ::)

Yes and No.

They will forward the application, but not to Québec, they will forward it to Mexico City and from there you will be contacted by the Québec consulate to get your CSQ (Certificat de Selection du Quebec), :)

Ahh cool, so I don't have to worry about making a 2nd binder for Québec (or Mexico City) with the exact same copies of everything?

Not at all, that binder is basically for Mexico City. In Mrs. Gaga they will only look at the sponsor's eligibility, such as making sure he's not bankrupt/receiving social assistance. Then everything gets sent to Mexico City for further processing.
