I'm also waiting on the PGR letter. The email says that if you haven't received the letter after 60 days to email them so they can resend it.

60 days is a long time though!

it said the same thing on my email too. But I already emailed them because it takes forever for them to answer :p. The email dosen´t say when I have to have it in the embassy by.

We sent our application in today so my info can be updated =D Let the wait begin!

Hello good people,

Background:
I have been slogging through this process for over a year now. I got an exclusion order last May, and my application for PR was recieved by Buffalo (I am a US citizen) in September 2011. Everything was done, I thought, but then I got a letter fom CIC two weeks ago requesting police certificates from Mexico. They had requested these before, along with some other things, but I wrote to remind them that I have never lived in Mexico, only traveled there once for two months in the last ten years. In the last letter from them, two weeks ago, they requested them again. So I submitted the documents in the way outlined on the CIC site, and they were recieved by the CIC in Mexico last week.

Question:
How long should it take CIC Mexico/PGR to send the Informe de Datos Registrales to Buffalo?

Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your encouragement a few days ago. I am back in California after 3 awesome and busy weeks in BC and ON. My toddler is so happy to recognize where she is. =) I was sad to leave but excited to get back to hubby. Still waiting for sponsorship approval. The house is practically empty with all our stuff in ON so it is kinda weird. I have stuff to do but at the same time I am pretty much just here, waiting for the PR! I honestly wonder how long it will take. 6 months is a long time to wait with all your stuff and car in Canada already! I really hope the Mexico VO is super fast after this long step 1 wait!

I honestly wonder how long it will take too. The good news for you is that you are almost done step one. Hopefully the second part will be a breeze and we will hear good news tomorrow when they update the processing times for sponsorship!

Hi again!

Another quick question: About the Relationship Support Letters...
Must they all be written in English, or can some be written in Spanish as well?

My Canadian wife has received Relationship Support Letters from a few of her friends + her mom (all written in English)... and we were wondering if members of my Mexican family can also write Relationship Support Letters, but obviously in Spanish.

I would leave them in Spanish. A translation done by yourself wouldn't look too authentic, and I don't think you'd want to spend the 70 cents or so per word that a translator charges ;) In the end it's all evidence and most Immigration Officers speak Spanish as well.

It's been two weeks since the email from the embassy saying that they were mailing the PGR letter, and also it's been a week since I gave them the damn prepaid envelope. I'm getting somewhat annoyed and I'll be really upset if the PGR gets here by regular mail first and they don't use my prepaid envelope! >:(
