This is from the online application they sent us.

"COA orientation sessions are offered free of charge to all Family Class visa applicants".

It says free for all applicants it doesn't say for applicants that have been granted visa's. So it may just be a bulk e-mail.
Im thinking its a good sign, I just read more on it and it says " COA is offered to visa-ready migrants to Canada, including refugees, economic immigrants, family class immigrants and caregivers."

Im keeping my fingers crossed !

Please some advice here:

My trv multiple entries visa expires august 20th. If i go visit hubby to canada august 1st, can the border officer still can give me a 6 month stamp? Or i will only be aloud to stay till august the 20th?

I have entered to canada a couple times before i got married and i left before my extension ended so i have always leaved canada before the date they gave me to leave. But anyway what do you recommend me to show the border officer so they can let me enter without problems? Marriage certificate? What else?

Last time i enter canada before i got married i got a visitor record but i applied to extension and was accepted but i left on time and everything i have never overstayed.

Thank you so much :)

Hi Lovelycomplex

It shouldnt be a problem if you come in to Canada with your visa, I will strongly recommend you to bring an invitation letter from your husband with his telephone, passport number and address just in case the immigration office in the line wants to ask you a lot of questions. If they ask you if you go to work or study say NO I come for a visit and my husband will support me with all expenses, I work in my country and I have savings and income there if you do. The last time I came alone to Canada they pas me to a second Immigration office and they start asking me so many questions about me And my husband and why I want to come to Canada etc, They ask me if I applied for PR I say yes but I haven't hear any news, they asked me soooo Your plan is to live in Canada and I say yes maybe if the PR goes good, I felt they were trying to persude me to say I work and study during my last stay in Canada since this is illegal, but you just have to say the tru and bring your letter and copy of your husband passport and everything.. With luck they dont even ask you anything because some officers are very nice and just et you in, but Just in case!!!!, You keep relax all the time!!!!Good luck!!

Hello guys here is me again.

Canzanillo I got my PR via e-mail they also copied my husband :)

They request me 2 things, 1 Criminal Check from Mexico ( Which I sent before with date of October but I guess they need a new one) and I have to take fingerprints of all my finger in 2 copies (100 dolars) with 6 passport pictures (60 dolars) and a copy of my passport to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico.

Plus they asked me a Criminal Check from Spain cause I lived there for 2 years before and I am a little bit confuse in the way to do this since I went to the Spanish consulate in Toronto last week and they asked me to fill some forms for them to send the papers to Spain and someone can pick it up in the police for me and Send it to Canada, but later, they say they make a mistake and that was not the procedure .

So the new procedure they told me is to send via mail a form 790 with a legalize passport and wire transfer of 3.70 Euros , costing 40CAN the wire transfer only and send all this via post mail to Madrid and in 3 weeks they send me the Spanish criminal check to my home in Canada.

I was wondering if there is any mexican who lived in spain but now is in Canada who has done the same procedure because I am getting a bit nervous since is already one week and I am not moving forward with these papers. Any advice is appreciate it.

I was also wondering if the wire transfer can be done via on-line canadian bank which is only 13 dolares or if it must be done in the bank office which is 40dolars....

:D, Best wishes to everybody!!!

Yes the whole process for me has taken so long !! But on the bright side our son (3) has got to spend a lot of time with his abuelos and primos and is fluent in spanish. Actually he only speaks spanish, not sure how anyone is going to understand him in Canada :p

i'm sure he'll pick it up quickly! I have a nephew who immigrated to Canada from Mexico 5 or 6 years ago. he's 11 now and pretty much only speaks english. I speak to him in spanish and he looks at me funny ::) :p

At least you are with your family. Hopefully it goes quickly for you now...

and now this...

I'd say it's a positive sign.. JMO
Let's hope it's a good sign. I like to be positive but I don't want to be a dreamer and believe things until they actually happen. So hopefully we'll get some news soon and then we can really get excited. I've been down here now for 7 years and it's been time to move back home for awhile now. It's nice that my wife and I are together but it's not nice that we're here. Good luck to everyone and I'll let you know if we hear something soon. Crossing our fingers

Hi there,

I just received few minutes ago the mail inviting me to the COA, but Im still in process, since I have to send the criminal records from Mexico and Spain. Does it means they will ask for my passport even if I havent send my Criminal records??? I am excited!!!

*Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA) is a one-day pre-departure orientation session, free of charge, for Mexican family immigrant applicants, provided by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).*

Good night!

Also, I would like to ask something to the guys that received that word email.. Some of you have not received AOR 2?

I hope you all get some news real soon :)

I "think" she meant to say AOR2, as I had asked her whether they had sent her AOR2 via regular mail or email.
