Hi guys,

I have a silly question, thing is I send my PGR letter July 12 2013 and since then I haven't hear from the embassy, my husband and I email them at the beginning of the year 2014 and they did reply to me but it really didn't help us because they didn't told us what was going on with my file or what will the next be.. Do y´all think it will be a bad idea if I email them at the beginning of February again? We know this process requires a lot of patience but is very stressful not knowing what is going on, it's been almost 7 months and no news

Thank you & good luck to everyone :)
Hi. For what I know its not such a good idea to email them or ask them whats going on so I'd wait.
I know this process can get very stressful, specialy when you dont know nothing. Just hang in there, I hope good news come soon.

PGR is Mexican police certificate. RCMP is the Canadian one. The applicant should provide police certificates from the countries where he/she has lived for a time longer than six months after 18 years old. If this apply to your case you would need to send both
Thanks, yeah I was thinking that...

Did you order you GCSM notes? maybe that could help you and know what's going on, you may find out why they want to call you to an interview and see the what's going on with your application. What I don't know is how to order them and I think it takes a month they sending them to you.

Hey gamy,

I haven’t request my GCSM notes, thing is I was going to do it but then I was told by the lady that help us that every time I request information, it delays the processing of the application...because they have to stop it and transfer to another department...to only request that if it's been refused and I want to appeal their decision. I don’t know what to do anymore if I should request them or not!!

DHL put a label they make by compute with the addresses and names and everything. I check an email I request they to send me and the address in the email, has some stuff missing too. I guess is something about the emails they send for notification, also I had my file number wrote beside my name and in the email it's missing. So I think you should be ok, did you use the tracking number? Did it get it?

I put my documents in an envelope and I put my labels on it, the DHL guy put everything in a DHL envelope and their computerized label on it. About the address I sent an extra sheet with my data, file number, date of birth, address, also they asked me to confirm my mailing address and hubby's address so that came in the letter too.

I think they'll use the address you confirmed them, and you can track it so you know it's already in the DHL office.

Sorry if I confused you more, I just want to said I think you should be fine.
Yes, We got a tracking number. It was delivered on the 29th, signed for by someone named Mario Vinas. Does this name sound familiar? Inside the envelope is a letter with my wife's file number, her mailing address and my address, the passports, and the passport request letter. We got a scan of the DHL label and my wife's file number is there; however, it is missing the final number. Should this cause a problem?

o my goodness I mailed off my sponsorship package today! I am so nervous! I checked over everything before I left my house and again at the post office! It will arrive in Mississauga early next week and it says it takes 33 days for them to make a decision on me the sponsor! Fingers crossed! Pretty nervous!

Well, we have not done the interview yet. Because of this refugee stuff, I´m sure an interview will be necessary.

Does someone know at what point the ARC is done? I believe it is done after the PR has been accepted no? But to me that doesn´t make sense, why would they accept the PR but then possibly deny the ARC? Just need some clarification on that and can't seem to find it online. Thanks.
Actually i just got the ARC right now, i have applied January 2012 under Quebec skilled worker, it seems the ARC is just before decision made.
Good luck with yours.

Hello I'm new here and I was wondering if someone could help me... My wife and I just received the email requesting the PGR thing.. I know I need to wait until I get the original letter to request it and then send it but I'm a little eager to know how long it will take after I complete this stage of the process since I miss her a lot :(. Is there a way to know this?. Thanks in advance!

Welcome!

Unfortunately, no way to know with certainty. Over the last 12 months, Mexico Visa Office has completed 20% of spouses and partner cases in 7 months, 30% in 8 months, 50% in 10 months, 70% in 12 months, and 80% in 14 months. That included the strike last year so this year should be a bit faster.

There's a bunch of different boxes that the visa officer needs to 'tick' to be able to approve an application, including proof of relationship, medical clearance, security clearance, background clearance, and sponsor eligibility. Luckily, they do these in parallel so, while this isn't the last step, it also is running concurrently to the others. Some depend on external agencies so it depends how quickly they hear back.

The PGR specifically she'll be able to pick up max 10 days after she goes to request it. Dropping it off as soon as possible after that means that the visa officer will be able to see it when s/he next reviews her file so that's helpful to avoid unnecessary delays.

Has she sent the Embassy a pre-paid courier label to speed up delivery of the request letter for the PGR?

Hopefully you'll be together very soon!

When did you receive the letter (and was it an e-mail or physical letter)?

Last wednesday and it was just the email. Waiting for the actual letter to show up or not so I can send the pre-paid thing and get this going as fast as possible :D. Was just wondering how fast or slow it could be after I send the PGR

Reply to the e-mail and ask them if you can still send a pre-paid courier label (or pick up the PGR letter if you are in Mexico City). Hopefully they didn't mail it out Thursday or Friday. That will speed it up vs. Correos de México standard mail.

They may have changed the process again - they used to always mail them via Correos de Mexico, then they started giving people a choice to mail in a courier pre-paid label - but it may be worth rereading the letter to see if there's instructions for a pre-paid label in the e-mail.

Request for DoJ California Criminal Record: 12/13/13

Today i got appointment for interview. to be the 26th of this month. I am worried its process little too fast, not to mention it caught me off guard, expecting to be done till may, 2014 maybe?, Is that normal and should i be concern?

also they are requesting to bring this.

Please bring the following documents:
Evidence that your sponsor and you have been cohabitated for at least one year
(Documents addressed to you and sponsor showing same residential address)

We dont have that, we have only live together for about month during my wife vacations.

Evidence of communication since your departure from Canada

Um... i talk to her every day, via email, skype, and text. but i never been to canada. US immigration issues due to me having work permit gotten through deffered action.

Evidence of financial co-dependency (joint utility bills, joint bank account statements,
medical/life insurance policies showing beneficiaries)

Again, we dont live together, so we dont have any of that stuff.

Additional photos showing the development of your relationship. (Do not present CDs,
videos or USBs. You will not be allowed to introduce personal computers to your Interview.)

Plenty of those, only of her 4 trips to come see me during her vacation.

What should i be worry about? what can i do? and can i push the appointment back, specially since i dont have any preparations, not to mention i would not be able to return to the US, which makes it a lot harder, meaning i have a month to send stuff, get plane ticket etc...

Also, it was 2 months process for the request of appointment, really find it weird...

one last thing
