you should send the waybill like a month after u get sponsorship approval. so that it gets to them before they sent out the aor.
cuz if they send out the aor they send the pgr at the same time. so u will miss the chance so to speak of u wait to get the aor.

Oh cool, thanks for the tip, I just got approved as a sponsor so I guess I'll send it to them this week or next... Who knows it might even expedite it on their end :P

Immigration officer,

I have attached the following documents with this letter

- a prepaid waybill to be used for my pgr request letter.

Thank you.

Thats all i would write.

Hello, does anyone have any idea how long a wait to expect after submitting additional or missing documents for the first part of the application (the sponsorship part)?

Im not 100% sure, but I know a couple who there lawyer advised them not to send the medical with the initial application and that caused them to take 8 months to get step 1 approved. Although im sure for only documents it wouldn't be that long.

My guess would be maybe 2-4 weeks. hopefully not to long!!

I think the AOR are just generic letters. so unless the specifically asked u for something. than you shouldnt worry about it

Thanks! I just sent a Case Specific Enquiry this morning regarding my application being past processing time. I hope i hear from them very soon.

Leisa ,

The AOR is not the email they sent you when they approve you as a sponsor right ??

Thank u :)

You will receive your AOR from the Embassy in Mexico City. In our case we received it 2 months after my sponsorship approval. Based on what I have seen and read it takes an average of 2-4 months to receive it.

My wife is currently getting the proper documents notarized and translated.. She's from Mexico city but we married in Quintana roo.. Does she have to go to Quintana to have the wedding cert. legalized? Thanks!

Lucky you , I was confused because they told me the AOR was the letter they send you when your approval as a sponsor , but is not right ??

Yes I think this confuses a few people. I can only speak to our experience but after our file was transferred and we recieved sponsorship approval we were then sent an email from the embassy in Mexico City. The email was titled AOR. In the email was just a generic letter basically staing they were working on our file. However the email also contained an attachment requesting the PGR.

Can someone clarify the steps for getting the Mexican documents (wedding cert, birth cert, medical and police check) translated.. They are all original copies.. Do they have to be legalized by city hall once they are translated and notarized?

I am not sure i have the answer you are looking for but I will try. My husband is from Mexico City and this is where his birth certificate was issed. We to were married in Quntana Roo and so this is where our wedding certificate is from.

I can only speak to what we did in terms of our documents. But it must have worked as we recieved my husbands visa in the mail today.

Also refer to posts a few pages back on this thread. There was significant discussion about translating documents.

In our case we had his documents (passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate) translated by a certified translator in Quintana Roo. We then brought copies of the documents along with the translations to the Canadian consulate in Quintana Roo where they verified them and placed a seal on them.

So I think this answers your question as the Canadian consulate in Q. Roo verified an placed a seal on his birth certificate issued in another state.

Hope this helps. Maybe someone has a better answer.
