really?
so we wont be able to drop off anything in person. we will have to mail everything
the only day my spouse has off is friday than we need to move on the weekend to GDL for work on monday.

so that being said
and is the ssp office open friday?

Edgar what is the best way to mail something to the embassy? this is now our only option

The best way would be with DHL. That's what I would use. Why don't you go in lieu of your husband? It doesn't have to be the applicant when it comes to dropping documents off. That's just for getting information.

I do believe the SSP is open on Fridays.

so should i email them and tell them he is in mexico. or on friday when we go to the embassy im dropping off a prepaid waybill for the PGR request, seeing as this waybill will say his mexico address, that should be good enough for them to send the pgr letter to the mexican address. and i shouldnt have to email them?

I would send a case specific enquiry (they won't change it without instructions) - he needs to send it so it's in his name and e-mail off of http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/mexico.asp. You'll need it so that they issue the PGR letter.

Re the SSP - call them to double check the times they are open (my understanding is that at the prior address they were also open in the mornings even though CIC's website only listed the afternoon times but since they recently moved, things may have changed).

The Embassy times are on their website (same as the link above for the case specific enquiry - it says "
Comments: Open to public Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 12:00 for presentation of applications. Closed to the public on Fridays.")

Well the things we have to drop off is the SSP, dhl waybill, copy of his new passport and medical exam receipt.
the ssp we can only get on friday(only day off to get it) and same with the dhl i dont speak spanish so i wouldnt be able to ask the DHL office for the proper thing, so my spouse will have to get it on friday, his medical exam is thursday morning, than he goes to work untill 8 after wards, so he will have the receipt with him. :-\ we just have really bad luck! lol. i feel another headache coming on! :o

i could go on thursday but the only thing i would be able to drop off would be the passport copies. so it wouldnt really do any good.

we will just have to mail it.
Okay i will get dhl to mail it, is it possible to get someone to sign for it when it arrives there or no?

thankss :)

Wow, my husband's plan was to go get his SSP and then drop it off at the embassy as well.. turns out that's not going to happen!! Good to know! :)

Okay wait. Are me and my spouse wasting my time going to get the PGR by ourselves? Will the embassy of Canada request it a different way since he is in Canada? Im in a little bit of a panic.. OhCanadiana? What do you think?

I just found another stat.. From Jan 1 - Mar 31 2012, Mexico has only received 33 PR Family class applications!! That's not a lot.. what is taking them soo long??

Wow. I suppose if we hadn't already figured it out, that little nugget basically confirms our application is screwed.

Hey - back to positive thinking, Missy (sounds better than Mrs. so bear with me here). The volume has nothing to do with anything else, especially if it's stuck in a step not done at the Embassy.

Oh, just a sinking feeling that if 33 applications received in 3 months are still in slow-mo; what does that mean in a case like ours still in limbo after 18 months processing and no decision? Simply put - we're in purgatory.

Ah okay! Understood.
Ya that is weird! They seem to move awfully slow for the little amount of applications they receive..

You beat me to it OhC!!! My frustration this past week is erupting over into anxious worrying at reading stats. Thanks for the zen-check. Positive mode returning in 3-2- ... in the morning :)

Remember we had talked about you getting the PGR with the letter from the Mexican Embassy being a bit of a bet that may really shorten your processing time if you get it to them so they have it in the file when they review it upfront (but there's a chance that will ask for a different path; my understanding was that is your husband visiting Canada so they could ask him to go to Mexico with their request letter to process it directly - his official country of residence to process it himself. Is he actually in Canada on a work/study permit?)
