Question (probably Ohcanadiana can answer this for me =) )

When the letter comes saying that another letter will be mailed out authorizing us to get the PGR, can my SO and I can then go to the embassy of Mexico in Toronto and get a request letter from them for the PGR rather than waiting for the PGR letter? Our current and only mailing address we gave is our home in Canada. Does that mean that they will send it via Mexican correo to our house in Canada or will they send us an email!? I dont think it will make it to Canada! haha.

On another note, I still don't have the damn PGR letter, it's been two weeks and sometimes I wonder why I gave them a prepaid envelope, but it's late and I should go to bed instead of being here complaining.

That stinks! Unfortunately, I can relate. We had sent five pre-paid waybills and included a FedEx account number in multiple places in my friends' application in case they needed to mail anything and they did not use them. When they send in a case enquiry to complain, the answer was simply to extend the deadline.

The one simplest thing that I think the Canadian Embassy in Mexico could do to make people's lives easier is to stop using Correos de Mexico by default. The folks that got them to use a waybill were very lucky!

Hang in there, edgarsitow ... you're almost to the finish line! :)

When we withdrew our TRV application they wouldn't mail us anything back unless we provided a prepaid waybill. So I am hoping they will send the PR via FexEx too.

I am thankful we don't have to deal with the Mexico police clearance. I can't believe everyone has to wait an extra month just to get the paper in the mail! That stinks.

Did you have to do the FBI one instead?

Yes. And we mailed that in with the original app so we expect AOR and then PPR. That is what happened the first time anyway.

Your lucky you dont have to get Mexican documents. They are a big pain! Is the FBI what they ask someone in your husbands case for in the initial application, or did you include it to save time?

Everyone living in the US has to send FBI clearance with the application.

Thank you everyone for the support.

I'm gonna give them until Thursday, if by then I haven't received anything, I'll go to the embassy to drop off the medical report, the police certificate from Baja California and the two other forms that they asked for, and I'll ask them what's going on.

hahaha it's like those guys are reading this forum. I just checked and they just gave the envelope to DHL an hour ago so I should be getting it tomorrow. :D

Funny how things work out....

yay! that´s excellent! :D

We went to get the PGR today in Veracruz. All the papers were okay (we were kind of worried because the letter was directed to the one in D.F.) BUT they wouldn´t accept the pictures because they have to be oval shaped apparently (dosen´t say so on the website!!! Also it´s ¨filiación¨ size and not passport, like it says on the website)! So we went to get new pictures done and they will be ready tomorrow morning! So hopefully we will have better luck tomorrow!

Exactly, when I went and got my photos taken, the guy gave me ovaled ones and I was like "they're supposed to be passport size and squared" and the guy was like "no they're not, you got the wrong info, if it's for the PGR then they're oval" and I told him "No, you know what? just get me another set in passport size just in case" and he was like "fine, it's your money"

I guess I owe the guy an apology :-X

Also another question, regarding my Proof of address, did you use something under your husband's name? All the proof of address I have is under a different name because I rent a semi-furnished apartment. Or do they not care too much about that?

Yes they really need to change the website!

The proof of address was in my husband´s mother´s name. So it has one of his last names on it. It was fine they said. I think they don´t really care about whose name is on it. On the website it says:

¨Comprobante de domicilio a nombre del interesado, de algún familiar o de la persona con la que cohabita¨

and since ¨the person you live with¨ could be anyone, not just a family member, then I don´t see how it would be a problem to have someone else´s name.

Also they said that they call it a ¨constancia de datos registrales¨ but it´s the same thing as the ¨constancia de antecedentes registrales¨.

And they said that it would be ready in 3-5 days.
