I ordered my notes July 16 and still have not received and when I emailed to ask what happened said they are behind and cannot guarantee when I will get them.
That right there is ridiculous , wow

I heard - back in June - that due to the volume of applications they are dealing with, they were note going to provide notes from the Mexico office to anyone who has been waiting less than 12 months. I don't know if it is catagorically true, but that is what I was told.

I ordered my notes before the file was transferred to Mexico so I hope that is not true.

It’s 100% wrong . I have ordered notes throughout my process and have received them late but always received them. I am now over a year and waiting on another set .
For them to say they won’t provide notes is against your rights is not true

This is what I heard directly from Mexico. I am not saying it is true for other visa offices. I am saying that this is what I heard from Mexico, in June.

Waiting until 12 months is up actually seems reasonable to me. It makes sense for anyone who knows that their file is received. I think the exception would be folks who haven't heard anything at all (as in, not received, lost in transit or not transferred to the VAC within 6-8 mos).

They are super busy - looking after applications for 9 latin countries. Every time we ask for notes, they have to review them to ensure they have removed anything sensitive (like if they are going to give the applicant a security interview - which is different from a regular interview - which they will not let you know in advance). It takes them time, and with hundreds of requests it slows down the process for all of us. I know people say that the whole thing is automated, but that is simply not true. So I completely understand when someone ordered their notes in July that they don't have them yet.

You do realize that it’s not the cic officers pulling the notes . It is a separate office . They have what are called privacy officers , they pull all the notes , they check for anything to be removed . I think you were given information to steer you away from ordering. I ordered ours because we have received little to no correspondence with the status , complete silence for 6 months and now we are passed the 12 months , we are also with the Mexico VO

I definitely know about privacy officers, and I definitely know that your case worker is involved when there is a request for notes. I have a family member in a VAC. But sure - if you want to be right...

It’s not about me being right at all , it’s about correct information . I’m not doubting your family member , and yes I’m sure the officer is aware that your notes are being requested , however to pay 5.00 fee to a privacy office to have what is ultimately yours or your spouses information , the VO can’t say we won’t give them to you , a lot of refunds will be given out if this is the case . I am currently a privacy officer for medical records .... same procedure to request these documents and a fee . If I ever told a person requesting notes that they couldn’t have them because it slows us down I would lose my job . So all I am saying is whoever told you that you may never get them was not telling you correct information. There are laws around these requests , and while it may take a while to get them , you will always get them and will always have a right to them

Omg that would make me sooooo mad. Well good thing is when my husband put in his passport in Santo Domingo they said his photos were not good so he had to go get new ones before he sent. I hope they knew what they were talking about.
Any update on the passport stamping. We are 3 weeks tomorrow and nothing. I was told someone received an apology email last week for the delays and expect visa this week. Anyone else receive any news? The norm was two weeks back in hand using fedex.
