If you have to carry medicines for a medical condition (for use during the flight) then you should also bring the prescription.
Everything else should be placed in your checked baggage.

Remember the rules for carry on items, they do not want you carrying liquids in your carry on bags.

It does not make that much sense to carry all that stuff, because can get all the medicines that you are likely to need in Canada, so why bother carrying all the extra weight. (Actually the same applies to toiletries).

Hi baloo,

so we still can't have liquids in our carry-on luggage?
i'm planning on bringing some art supplies to amuse my daughter with on a 12-hour flight...are scissors, glue and paint (in tubes) not allowed too?

Very small quantities of liquids are allowed but it is a pain to deal with, so I take none.
No gels, so no glue or paint - No scissors of sharp objects.

Should be no problem.
But they may want to see it working.

carrying it is one thing, but is it allowed to be turned on and played with? it won't cause any problem the way mobile phones do?

It can be used when the crew tell you.
Typically not during takeoff and landing.

Make sure it has headphones, because any noise will not make other passengers your friend.
