Hi Guys,

I want to apply for PR under Canadian Experience class. I have 3 years Experience in CATIA V5 (Design & Developement). I am mechanical engineering graduate. Please help on which NOC code is suitable for me? In my work permits 3 time renewed as "Embedded sys software designer" NOC # 2173 and One time renewed with " Mechanical Engineers" title under NOC # 2132. Please suggest me, which is suitable NOC code for me. Anyone applied with CATIA V5 experience earlier?

Thanks in advance.

You need to look at the duties for each noc and see what matches yours more closely - job title is less important --- it's the duties that must match.

If you are currently working with closed work permit under noc 2132. I would apply under 2132. But, your job title and duties have to be matched.

Thanks for your comments Kevin & Ipc...

Currently I am working with NOC #2173 closed work permit title as "Software Engineers" & last one " Embedded sys software designer", both titles under NOC # 2173. But two years back, In my old work permit says "Mechanical Engineers" which is NOC #2132. My current work, Design Engineer profile is suitable for both category roles & responsibility. Which one I can choose, anyone (or) both? Please Suggest me.....

Thanks in advance

Its all up to you to use both experience or not as both noc codes are eligible under cec. Just fyi, you dont need to submit your old work permit. Cic only requests the most recent wp you holding now. If I were you, I would claim both noc experience. More than 1 year experience is always better than exact 1 year. In this case, you need to get a reference letter from each employer or company. However, if you already gained 1 year experience under 2173 and you want to go easy on this, you can claim only 2173. Preparing papers to claim one job title is more simple than 2 titles.

Thank you very much Kevin...... I will apply under NOC # 2173, which I have more than 2 years of Experience.
