Pffffff... I say everybody... PANIC!!!! aaaaahhhhhh lol tis' the zombie apocalypse obviously, no exam date yet = government has been taken over by zombies = LOGIC! :P

It'll be fiiiiiiine, my best advice would probably be to get ridiculously busy in your day-to-day life, you kinda forget about this stuff because you have no time to think about it! 8)

It's like a lottery game. Some people hit prize on first attempt. Some people keep playing the whole life never hit any prize. Only GODzilla knows when you could hit a prize.

AED: looks like we'll be in for a wait. Kitchener is only sending out test invites to Feb applicants now !

We just got THE letters. You should be getting yours soon!

That's awesome news, when did you receive the letters? Is there an update on eCas?

I have talked to CIC to check status on file.

Decision has not been made yet and file is still in process. the rep told me that this is normal and it may take up to 6 months!! :o

I hope I would hear good news before end of November and not in 6 months!

Hi Moein, my file was transferred to Kitchener on Sept 25. When I called CIC, they said no test invite has been sent out yet.

ITRe: May2014 applicants

Hi Guys,

My husband and I took the test this morning at 7:45 and we both passed . We had a very short interview and we were out the door by 8:20 AM . The experience was better than what I have expected . They didn't hand out oath letters though which would have been the icing on the cake. But still, we are both happy that we are done.

For those about to take the test, it is easy as long as you read the Discover Canada Book 2x at least and take a few tests online. While the online test questions are similar to actual test , the wordings are very different so it is important to understand everything rather than just memorize the test questions and answers by heart. I bought the paid reviewer (citizenshipsupport.ca) but in hindsight I shouldn't have. Like I have said, as long as you read the book a couple of times and take the sample free tests, that should suffice.

One side note for those that have the same schedule as ours, make sure you are there on time. One guy was late today , he got in as we were about to leave and regardless of him begging to to be let in the test room, he wasn't allowed. He was asked to contact CIC . There is a waiting area at the back so it is best to come in early .

Good Luck to All.

Riz

Congrats Riz and hopefully you will get oath invite shortly and thanks for sharing your experience.

Re: ITRe: May2014 applicants

Congrats to you and your husband. Hopefully, your oath notice will arrive soon.

Too bad about the guy who was late. Now he has to hope CIC finds his reason for missing the test to be reasonable, otherwise, it's back to square one. Yikes!

Hello Guys,

I have been following your forum for years but this is my first post:

I called CIC on Monday Nov 10 and they said that my file is still in Sydney, from what I see, I might be wrong, I think that CIC have a kind of a pilot file processing project going on for Ontario applicants and it is going pretty fast, I live in Edmonton and it is a whole different story.

Please check my time line:

Application type: Indicidual
Received: May 8, 2014
In process: July 11, 2014
Received line disappeared: September 22, 2014
Test: NON
Local office: Edmonton

We are in Edmonton as well, and while we haven't called CIC to ask about file location (it really doesn't matter), our timeline is similar to yours.

The other thing to note is that there seems to be a line where they sped up ALL applications -- I think it was in the spring. We have friends who applied in January but haven't heard anything back.

Congrats Riz.... my received line disappeared today, doesn't mean anything to me coz others have same problem where nothing happens after line disappearance. My app was recvd on may 30th

congrats Riz. where is your local office?

I took my test on OCT 30 and still no oath letter... waiting impatiently.

I read few posts on Mississauga local office that they receive oath letter in an average of 1 and 1.5 month after the test date.
