It says background check not yet started,

call centre person had told that the file is in Ottawa office, what does it indicate ......
I got two more weeks to pass 6 months hopefully something comes out good
Hope all of us waiting will soon get some good news
Are you an FSW-outland or inland applicant? In case of outland applicants the file will eventually go to the respective local visa office of your country of residence. I do not have much idea about how inland or PNP works. Seniors in this forum might help you. You can always raise a case specific inquiry through the web-form once you have passed 6 months time from AOR. Ordering GCMS notes can also be helpful to know your status. It only costs $20, but usually take about 6 weeks time to send you the result.
No worries my friend. You are not going to be rejected after 5 and half months of your application. You will see a rapid change in your statuses soon with a golden passport request mail shining in your mailbox. Cheers. :)

Looks like IP-1.

Guys, approximately after 3 months seen some movement.
BG check went to NoT applicable from "Your application is in progress. We will send u msg when we start ur background check".
I didnot check my status yesterday. I am not sure whether it was today or yesterday.
Can someone tell which stage is this??
Reply would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I am not sure but i guess this is the second time i am seeing not applicable.
Why would it still be IP1 after almost like 5 months.
My AOR Is may 29

This is the message for IP1, although it sounds weird at this stage.
The best way to make sure it going for GCMS notes.

We are looking at last week in March 2018. I realized I can't do it earlier than that. Medicals expire in April, 2018 though. We will miss this Christmas while hoping to enjoy more in the coming years. I pray it goes well with everybody.

Congratulations Mate!! Enjoy this new milestone in your life!
The best is yet to come!!

Did you request GCMS notes, or do you have any clue why your application stalled for a while?

All the best

The officer at London office didn't open our application till 14th October since when it was transferred on the 9th August.
I raise a CSE and got a reply that everything looked fine that it was just waiting for a final review.

So, basically it was due to London not attending to the file in time.

I requested for gcms on the 14th September and I haven't received it even till now.

London VO is slow, we just need to be patient and wait till when they are ready.

Like I always said, it will end in praise.

All the best

Thanks for your quick reply! There seems to be happening the same situation in my case. I received GCMS notes on the 20th of October and it shows that since they moved my case to LVO on the 17th of August no officer has opened my case. It's been stalling since then like yours!
I'm glad to hear everything worked out fine in your case eventually.
My timeline is kinda similar to yours with due date changes since my AOR was on 28th May and Med on 5th July. Hopefully, mine is coming soon.

Thanks once again for sharing. It puts my mind at ease.
Enjoy this new phase!
