Hey peeps, I have been a silent spectator of this forum for quite a while now. I would like to share that I have received my PPR FINALLY and my timeline is as follows:
AOR: 28 th May 2019
MEP: 10 th July 2019
Biometrics : 11th July 2019
Visa Office: Ottawa
Country of residence: India
Dependent: 1
RRPF was paid along with the application and no ADR was requested.

I enquired about my application status through webform, only upon completion of 6 months, and after a week got reply that criminality was valid, but eligibility review and security review was not started.
AND very next morning I got "READY FOR VISA" mail.
So, in my scenario, I strongly believe that status query prompted the process and thereafter the mail. Thought might be useful to those who are still waiting for their PPR.

All the best!

Hi All,
Question on passport request email(PPR) for Indian passport holders residing in US - I am an FSW-O candidate with Indian passport currently residing in US.
1) Does anyone know, once we receive the passport request, do we need to send the passport for visa stamping to Canada or can it be done through the VFS offices in New York or LA?
2) Also, any idea on average time taken by Canadian authorities to return the passport?
1. Guessing its direct to Ottawa office ( your PPR mail would have details)
2. Almost a month if point above is the case

Please post here for confirmation - https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/ppr-to-copr-journey-ppr-in-jan-feb-19.610143/page-151

1. It depends on what the PPR email mentions, if it says Ottawa its Ottawa if it instructs to submit to vfs then it has to be vfs.
2. This depends on the work load of the office you are sending you passport too, if it's a week permit/study permit season it might take a month, but if it's not then maybe few days.

Ideally, go with the in-country Visa consulate for stamping. There is a small possibility of risk in case there is any issue during passport transit(Especially when passport is sent across the border & u r not in your country of citizenship). For my WP stamping in US, I was given option to send PP to LA/ NY/ Ottawa - My company's immigration team strictly asked me to send it to local VFS. Passport processing timeline(Including in-transit time) would be shorter on in-Country mails.

True and it does make sense but in case of the PPR the instructions in the email has to be followed and if it says Ottawa OR Vfs then yea either will work :)

Does calling have equal impact as webform?

Hi guys,

Wanted to share an update with everyone who is past 6 months.

I called the IRCC this morning and was told that my application hasn't been opened by agent since I submitted the RCMP police check over 4 months ago.
He said a notice has been sent to the agent and they will be required to reopen the application within a week. From which point on processing will continue.

My AOR is May 16, 2019 > medicals passed on June 24, 2019 > RCMP check submitted on July 17, 2019 (no activity or update since then). The application is at Sydney office.

Hello,

At what number did you reach the IRCC ? I'll be reaching my 6 months mark tomorrow, and I'm planning to call them right away.

Thanks in advance

It has been

An after the call, I got an email from CPC-Sydney that Application is awaiting review of an officer.
everyone from Sydney Office will get the same reply as you and the average processing time is 8-9 months

I got the awaiting review reply since November and nothing change so far
