Its all worth the wait guys. There's a reason why this is happening. We may not understand now but everything works for our own good. Keep still.. and keep the faith..For the meantime, just do the right thing.

Don't be discouraged, and also I think it's important to remember that an acknowledgment of an officer reviewing your file means that's confirmation that your application is on the agenda for them. So i don't think that's not worth something, it means they know your position (i.e. app is past normal processing time) and that you're inquiring about it, and it's a valuable reminder that someone is waiting for an answer.

It doesn't necessarily mean that if you don't get a result within a timeframe after they send the e-mail that they're not working on your file. I think it depends on a lot of factors, not least how far along the way your application has been processed up to that point.

It's good to inquire about your file within reasonable bounds.

Finally I received the PPR email today! AOR - May 23 and had a ghost update yesterday; VO - CPC Ottawa. Thank you for all the information and positivity provided through out! All the best for everyone waiting to get it very soon!

One quick question- I have been asked to submit the passport either at London VO or CPC Ottawa. I was in Canada for the past 5 months on a visit visa so my profile carried the Canada address. But now I am in India, So I’d like to change the passport submission office to one in India. I have emailed to the address provided in the PPR email And CPC-OTTAWA asking for a change but just wanted to know how long this will take and if there is anything else I can do. Anybody with similar experience?
Congratulations!! When are you planning to land?

Hi everyone. I have been a silent spectator of this forum for quite a while.
Here is my timeline:
ITA: 6 March 2019
AOR: 1st May 2019
MEP: 10 June 2019
Biometrics : 17 June 2019
RPRF request and payment: 30 October 2019
ADR for Schedule A IMM5669 on 13 November 2019, submitted 18 November 2019.
Visa Office: Ottawa
Country of residence: Georgia
Nationality: Indian
Number of countries lived: 3
Travel history: extensive due to nature of my job.
Dependent: 1
Called CIC twice after 6 moths, for the first time in October only med and criminality was passed, eligibility and security was not started. In the second call at the end of November, eligibility was passed but still security was not started.

Any idea how long it might take as I have crossed 7 months. Is it taking too long due to travel history?

Who knows? I have zero travel history after age of 18, and I've crossed 6 month without any updates. We can only guess.

Hi all,

I have been a silent reader and in a similar situation waiting over 6 months. My AOR: May 22nd (VO Ottawa), please add me to the list too. I just realized that we made a mistake while filling out the forms in EE profile. Under 'Personal details' there was a question:'Have I applied to IRCC before?', for which I answered 'no'. I initially thought they were referring to previous PR applications and hence said no, while I had got a visitor visa previously approved and actually submitted the passport pages showing the stamped visitor visa in the PR application. So, though we had no intention of misrepresenting/hiding this information, we are worried that it could be seen so. So, we have explained this in a webform to them immediately (today) and not sure how this might affect our chances. I know it was dumb of us to realize this so late into the application process. If you have any suggestions on what else could be done to make sure this does not become an issue, it would be helpful.
AOR: May 22nd
The last time we called IRCC (Nov 22nd), they said criminality passed, eligibility under review and security not started.

I honestly don't think that's an issue - or at least not reason enough to think your application maybe in trouble because of this. If you have applied for a visitor visa before you must have a UCI# that should be common for both your visitor visa and your PR application - and so they would be aware of your history either ways. It wouldn't complicate your application process. However - it's obviously good to take all possible precautions from your end which you seem to have done so by raising the webform so I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi All,
Question on passport request email(PPR) for Indian passport holders residing in US - I am an FSW-O candidate with Indian passport currently residing in US.
1) Does anyone know, once we receive the passport request, do we need to send the passport for visa stamping to Canada or can it be done through the VFS offices in New York or LA?
2) Also, any idea on average time taken by Canadian authorities to return the passport?
