i called the canadian citizenship office and they told me that my application is still in back ground check pending status.

Would you mind me asking how long it took from sending documents to oath ceremony?
Same boat. In GTA also. Mine says In Process since Aug 01, nothing comes after. This is so unfair to ppl residing in GTA.

The IRCC asked me to provide fingerprints on August 29, 2018. I submitted fingerprints to RCMP on August 30, 2018. After that, my online citizenship application status has been stuck at this step. It has been over 3 months.
I have been calling 1-888-242-2100 ext 1-1-4-1 with no avail. I'm also contacting RCMP Civil Fingerprint Screening Services (CFSS), hoping to get some info if RCMP has sent my criminal record back to IRCC. I don't think I have any criminal record at all.
The fingerprinting document indicates my application is delegated to a regional office for GTA. It's the IRCC office in Scarborough. No idea if this is the reason for the long wait.

I just called IRCC today and got to know my file is in the local office. What does that mean? Does the local office do all the processing? My file is in process since 7th August.
This is the stage I'm.at, local.office arrange the test date, you are nearly at the end of the long tunnel
Does that mean my eligibility checks are done ? Or eligibility checks are done after test?
Congrats I hope you will receive the invitation for Oath Ceremony as soon as possible! But I was interviewed on Oct. 15 and I haven't received any invitation letter yet. I sent my documents on December 20, 2017 and I am supposed to be invited these days at most! I really don't know what to do because my family want to plan for new year vacation and they wait to get clear my citizenship position
