They are working on applications received today!

I have a question guys, I have to change my address and notify CIC since I came back to toronto on Monday while my husband is in Ireland waiting for the entire application to be approved. Still waiting on my sponsorship approval, when should I notify them of a change in address? My husband says I should wait until I get approved. Any thoughts?

i think you should also wait for the sponsor approval. you should be able to forward your mail from Canada Post in the meanwhile

Hello, I'd like to join in the discussion. My husband and I sent our application in on the 21st of May. Our visa office is LA. He's my sponsor. I'm currently staying with him in Ottawa. Been here since December of 2013. Got my extension in May (I think) and got it extended till December 31 of this year. I'm an Polish American (Polish by birth, American by naturalization). Previously lived in Chicago for many years. In our application, we provided them with FBI check which I did at the beginning of the year, and my medical which I did not long before sending in our application (I think beginning of May).

I just tried to check the status on the application based on the receipt number we got, but got nowhere. Do I need to wait for approval before I can check status? Also, have any of you guys who did send our application at the end of May received anything in the mail/e-mail yet? I keep checking the mailbox every single day in hopes of a little piece of paper saying "Sponsor has been approved" or something along the lines.

I'd like to join the conversation, and hear all or stories. I'd also like to add my name to the spreadsheet. :)

I'm glad this forum exist and I wish you all luck on receiving your PRs soon. I can't wait to get mine so I can go back to work and feel like I 100% belong here in Canada.

Nice to meet you all,

Kasia

Yeah damn major facepalm.. But anyhow, I already phoned CRA and it will take 10 business freaking days. Would you know if they'll accept just the online copy? Because I tried logging on to my CRA account and there's an option there to print the "Option C". Are they gonna accept that?

We didn't submit Option C, but we did submit everything else we could. This means 12 months of pay stubs, letter explaining why we didn't supply Option C, T4 , notice of assessment (basically everything would find helpful). We did request Option C and have since received it, so if they do request it, we have it ready to go. We didn't submit it with the application, because my FBI clearance was expiring, and.. my husband thought that his tax return stub thing is enough to supply them with since he never heard of Option C before. (Rookie mistake and me being American, I had no idea what Option C was either). Anyways, we're fully aware that there might be consequences to our actions... but I hope that since we provided them with everything we possibly could (but the Option C of course), that they will let us slide (sort of speak).

Oh okay, if I only would've known that they wont accept my current earnings and ITR from that Tax agency that computed my tax for the year 2013. Personally, I would try phoning them and ask them if they would accept those at least you will know ahead of time if you have to mail your option C to them. I hate that we have to wait again for a couple of weeks prob to hear frome them. It's better to be safe than to be sorry I guess.

I have applied outland and have hired a lawyer . Sisnce ive lived outside canada for so long i am not able to provide a recent option c print out, and have only submitted 6 month bank ststement as per mt lawyers advice. Hope i wont get additional docs request

I do not know if they will accept it. They DID say that you can supply 12 months of earnings somewhere, but according to people I've talked to on here, they might still ask for Option C (which we have waiting if they still want it). As I said, we supplied them with everything else we could. Hopefully it'll be ok.. We'll see.

6 months? Why did he say 6? (sorry, just curious). I thought it was 12 months of earnings. What was his reason for that number?

No idea. But as i understood, if you apply outland there isnt much weight put on the option c print out as long as you show a healthy income. Immigration and tax revenue canada arent really connected.

kasia333, why is your VO Los Angeles? you're from the US? then your app will get processed in Ottawa...

I'm sorry, but I applied outland. Shouldn't be the US office since I'm an American and my application is not being processed in a Canada office? I might be confused, sorry. Now I'm worried.

Edit: Ok, you're right. It is Ottawa, could you please change that? If it is Ottawa, is that basically where my file will go after Mississauga? (even if I'm filing outland?) I'm pretty confused about this right now. If you could explain it to me, I'd appreciate it.

yeah, outland apps from USA get processed in Ottawa. only super-complicated cases (criminal background, marriage fraud) get sent from Ottawa to LA and they take much longer. so you wrote Los Angeles at the visa office section? i think they won't mind that, your app still will get sent to Ottawa, i think. average times are 15 months for Ottawa but many get PR at around 8.10 months. there are few lucky ones that got in even less - Zarilenth for example, her husband got PR in 5 months.

So it's Mississauga > Ottawa? Sorry again if my questions sound stupid

exactly. every application goes through Mississauga since it's first stage approval. afterwards, the app gets sent to the specific VO. that one is Ottawa for you. :)
